Let's dance together -
let's live together! Let’s co-operate!
Song and dance are a medium in which people can experience and meet one another without prejudice and preconceived ideas.
The art forms of song and dance, and music in general, are an extraordinary and important part of the Romani culture which has developed over centuries.I think too: more possibly than elsewhere. It is a blessing for the people because it brings us closer to one another than any politically correct contortions and reinterpreted differences.
Dance culture = dialog of culture
I find it lovely to experience that more and more Roma, Sinti and other Gypsies recognize this and are beginning to use this consciously in order to clear up mistrust, phantasies and the biased rejection by many of the Gadje, the non-Gypsies. How they are using the strong and conjoined elements of their culture in order to take their place in the world that is theirs.
I think ,all this school projects and conjointly artistic work are a calm, honest and more effective way of the meeting of minds despite that the sound of guitars, accordions and clarinets, bass and voices ring lustily toward heaven.
So I invite all activists to work together, to co-operate to elevate treasures of romany culture!
