Hello my lovely Nesters!
It has been a while since we've had any in-person meditation for obvious reasons... While meditation online together was great, it got stressful soon as everything else shifted online. We are now in a moment where it is legal to open up for in-person meetings and meditation sessions with careful restrictions, and I think we can do so keeping everyone safe! So...

I'll be scheduling meditation sessions at lots of new times so we can keep sessions to a MAXIMUM of 3 people besides myself.

Folks will be required to reserve and pay ahead (of course, if you have no income, reach out - we can always work something out and you are welcome, no questions asked).

Those who are able, it would help enormously if you can buy several classes ahead—those who already have pre-purchased before we shut down, those are of course still valid). That will help us keep going in both the short and long terms. It became clear early on that if I keep housemate(s), it will be much more difficult to operate meditation or indeed any workshops/sessions (I can't control a roommate's social distancing), so I'll be taking a cut in revenue to open back up, honestly. But our mission is to serve the community, and it has become clear this is really an important role we serve.

I am hoping our trends continue positively here in Germany, and aim to do my part to keep it that way. I am hoping we can look at opening for small concerts again sometime soon. I miss you all terribly!

In the meantime - purchase a mask, or order a custom tote bag - all of it supports the space, and keeps the lights on/doors open here. Together, we'll get through!

Check our events page for meditation next week! They'll be posted by this evening. And reach out - we're here for you!!!

Important Update from The Nest 🌳

You've all probably noticed far less events here at Willows Nest since February. Honestly, when our first Artist-in-Residence for 2020, Li Harris, and I came to the decision to postpone her residency due to the virus issues back before February, it was clear that things were going to get interesting, and so I've booked no new shows and even done some telematic performances to keep going. But, now with Berlin on edge, I've gotten the advice from those I trust to cancel regular groups and keep gatherings to a minimum. I've resisted for lots of reasons, particularly given how isolated this is making folks, but these are interesting times. I want to balance the need not to feed unnecessary panic along with the need to keep people safe and opening this intimate a space to the public just doesn't make sense right now in that regard. I'll leave it to other workshop leaders to make their decisions regarding meetings, but we will discuss how to keep folks safe in even the smallest of group settings.

More than that, it has become clear that the way forward is for things going virtual for at least the foreseeable future—we share what we can how we can!! I'm switching to virtual meditation sessions and have a spiffy new noise-cancelling setup that will have me sounding crystal clear in your ears near and far. Working out the schedule NOW and it will be posted soon. There will be time slots for folks around the world, too - so feel free to join in wherever you are self-isolating!

I'm open to skype meetings, projects and even performers coming in and broadcasting live here and with just one or two of us in studio no issues. With my setup, that's a possibility in lots of contexts so reach out if you have ideas. There are many, many ways we can keep sharing art while keeping one another safe and connected - I aim to find them all, and share them all, with you.

We'll get through all this my beloveds, and we'll do it together. Reach out if you have ideas or just need to feel connected—we're here!

Beloved Nesters! If you've been here for an event, you know how beautiful this place is. I'm looking for someone else who wants to make this their home permanently, registration and all. Possibilities to use the space in creative ways for your own practice. Opening to friends and network first before going public, so reach out if you or anyone you know is looking for a beautiful place to call home—kitty cats are looking forward to meeting you!

To everyone who came out on Saturday for our fundraising concert with Aude—you all were so wonderful! Evenings like that are why I came to Berlin and why I work so hard to keep this space for art... The conversations, kitty-cat loves and beautiful atmosphere created by all of you was so very inspiring! Big major thanks from Aude and The Nest!!

We are an independent creative space without corporate or institutional funding — an art space created by participating artists who aim to build community, develop individual projects, and share their practices with like minds.
