| EUROPE DAY | 🇪🇺
Today we are celebrating Europe Day, a strong symbol that represents the creation of the European Union on 9 May 1950.

It is also an opportunity for us to tell you more about the co-founder of our festival: the Erasmus + program. Funded by all EU member states, this program promotes sport through strong values: integrity, transparency, social inclusion, health, equality. 👏

Each year, dozens of projects are selected and then financed. The Queens Rugby 7 Festival is one of them. It represents and disseminates the diversity and inclusion through and in sport that the EU seeks to develop. It also provides an opportunity for teams from all over the continent to come together around a sport and a cause. 🤜🤛

See you in 2022 to share this unique European experience.

| INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY | 👊
Today, 8 March, we celebrate Women's Rights Day, dedicated to raising awareness and action to promote equality between women and men. 💛

It is also an opportunity to tell you a little more about the co-founder of our festival: the Alice Milliat Foundation. Named in homage to the most beautiful symbol of women's sport, the Foundation has been in existence since 2016 and is already recognised as being of public utility.

Its mission ❓ To enhance the media coverage of women's sport in France and Europe, which is progressing but still has a long way to go.

Its actions ❓ The Foundation finances and labels projects that promote the values of equality and inclusion in sport. It also organises innovative and winning projects to help sportswomen assert themselves. This is the case of the Queens Rugby 7 Festival.

The aim is to bring together female players from all over Europe through rugby, to create a link between teams, so that they can assert their leadership and never again ask themselves what they are allowed to do or not to do.
Our festival is not just a rugby tournament. It has the ambition to be a place for exchange and reflection combining conferences, debates and exhibitions about women in sport.🤓

What are you waiting for to join us?

// 🚨 QR7F ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨 //

Queens Rugby 7 Festival postponed to June 2021

We are currently facing an unprecedented situation and each and everyone of us has to adapt in order to limit the spread of COVID-19.

In accordance with decisions taken by authorities from different European countries and in agreement with the European program Erasmus+ Sport, and the City of Vincennes, we are postponing the Queens Rugby 7 Festival to June 2021.

The festival will still take place at Léon Bonvoisin stadium (Paris) from 14th to 20th June, 2021 and will be built on three European women’s rugby 7s tournaments:
• a school tournament (for -15 y.o.) on 15th and 16th, June 2021,
• a university tournament on 17th and 18th, June 2021,
• a federal tournament (for +18 y.o.) on 19th and 20th, June 2021.

As initially planned, the festival will be a place where everyone can share ideas and reflections by combining talks and exhibitions about equality in sport, gender diversity, women’s leadership and social inclusion through sport. Diverse animations and activities will punctuate this cultural and sports week.

The terms and conditions of the Queens Rugby 7 Festival do not change neither regarding the registrations nor the reimbursement of the transportation and accomodation costs. All the partners have confirmed their commitment for 2021 and we would like to thank them for their trust.

The Alice Milliat Foundation and the team of the Queens Rugby 7 Festival are adapting and work on developing the spirit of the festival. Throughout the year, we will ensure to gather and enliven the great European community of women’s rugby 7s.

// 🇪🇺 QR7F ANNOUNCEMENT 🇪🇺 //

Hello everyone,

🌍 We are going through a particularly special time worldwide with all the emotions and fears coming with it. The sports world is very impacted, but health logically remains the priority.

🤝 In this difficult moment, let’s stay careful and more importantly, supportive with each other. Now more than ever, the values sport carries are essential in daily life: team spirit, respect, courage and cooperation to fight #COVID19.

Let’s listen to the government instructions and stay at home. Let’s also we would like to congratulate and thank today’s heroes who risk their life to cure everyone.

🏉 In the meantime, the Queens Rugby 7 Festival is making progress and we are still working on the organization of this event celebrating women’s rugby from June 15th and 21st, 2020. // 🇫🇷 ANNONCE QR7F 🇫🇷 //

♀ Yesterday was International Women’s Day. A day dedicated to defending women’s rights and denounce inequalities and sexist abuses that affect women in their daily life.

❎ Unfortunately, although there has been progress regarding women’s representation in sport, this field is not immune to sexism, discriminations and violences.

🏉 Our goal with the Queens Rugby 7 Festival is to create a welcoming community with teams from all around Europe by giving them the possibility to play together without being afraid of judgement and no matter what their level or age.

👏 Know that you shouldn’t need to change who you are to be accepted anywhere, you can be proud of yourself and your achievements.

🤗 Come and be yourself on the field and outside !

Any women out there playing Rugby?

The Queens Rugby 7 Festival is the first European festival dedicated to women playing rugby 7s non-professionally. One of our collaborators. The Alice Milliat Foundation in Paris, is running this event and has asked us to try and spread the word to get some teams from Sweden involved, and as many of you well know we have a passion for womens sport festivals!

The event aims at gathering players from all around Europe for a tournament divided in 3 categories: school, university and federal. The goal of the festival is also to promote women’s sports practices, women’s leadership and social inclusion to different audiences.

Queens Rugby 7 Festival
