The Sun has set on this year’s Paris Prayer Connection, as we concluded the conference by remembering how a God calls us to be persistent in prayer - so the work is not over! If you have missed out on this week, but would like another chance to get invovled and learn more about how God is moving in France - reach out to us! There are more opportunities coming up around the corner...

We spent our last evening together being reminded of the spiritual context of France - it’s history, as well as how much has changed in the last 50 years as a result of church-planting efforts and prayer. We prayed again for salvation for those close to our hearts and lives.

And we began the celebration of who God is and all that He has already done and is already doing through this year’s week of prayer.

We truly cannot thank all of you enough for joining us. We can all agree - the Spirit was clearly at work this week.

Thank you, again and again, to everyone joining us in prayer this week!

Yesterday we heard from 2 teams - one in Paris (our largest team) and one in a Northern Suburb of Paris.

Thank you for continuing to join us in prayer for the “the band friends” of B&M. One of them has asked for prayers for his future, and another one invited us to pray for his health (after yesterday’s session).

Thank you, also for your prayers for the outreach event in Paris this Saturday - that people would respond positively, and that God would make connections with people interested in community and spiritual things.

Today, we will continue praying in boldness for this nation and CELEBRATE our time together.

Thank you, again, to everyone who is joining us in prayer this week - whether in a session or on your own. We have said it many times, but will say it again - PRAYER IS OUR WORK. So THANK YOU for working and carrying our burdens with us this week.

This morning, we heard stories of PPC past miracles in a small town to the North of Paris that reminded us that: “God reveals His power when people pray.” Then, we reflected on how God call us to pray big, specific, and bold prayers.

This afternoon, we held a private session for the France VIE kids. We worshipped together and they drew pictures to tell us about their lives and share their prayer requests with us. Please do not forget them in your prayers.

And finally, tonight, we heard from 2 (4) church plants! 2 in Central Paris and 2 with unique target populations. Please continue praying for the beginning of these two new projects, as well as rejoicing in all God is doing through this existing teams!

Thank you for joining us today in praying for France, and specifically these two precious teams!

We are happy to share with you that one big prayer request was answered - right after our session today, C&R recieved their French residency cards in the mail, that they need to travel to the U.S. this summer!

Please continue to pray for C, and the opportunity that he has been given to share at an event this Saturday.

Praise God for His provision, and how He answers prayers - even as, or before, they are being prayed!

PPC 2020 Day 1 is in the books!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us during our first two sessions today (or who joined us in prayer, even if they could not tune in)!

This morning we celebrated stories from PPC past - of our the PPC, itself, came to be, and how one of our church plants began. Then, we reflected on how prayer is a direct result of our relationship with God and we must approach Him with rightful hearts - inviting the spirit in to lead us.

Then, this evening, we heard from 2 different teams in Paris - a church plant in a diverse neighborhood and an international student ministry. We got to rejoice in how God is working, as well as carry their needs and requests before the Lord.

We look forward to continuing in prayer with many of you tomorrow at 2pm CEST, 8 am EST, and 10 pm AEST, as we hear from two more church-planting teams!

Bible verses from today’s study:

Romans 8:14-15; 26-27
Hebrews 10:19-22
Psalm 37:7-10
James 4:7-10

In 2 weeks from today, we will kick-off our 19th annual (and first virtual) Paris Prayer Connection.

While many changes come with moving an event online, our need to pray remains the same. This powerful week of worship and prayer is an essential part of our ministry, and we are excited to have the opportunity for you to join-in with us (not from Paris, but from wherever you are)!

The PPC 2020 will consist of 8 zoom sessions over the course of 5 days (June 15th-19th), these are varied in time, that there might be sessions that work for all time zones. We would love to have you join us for whichever and how ever many sessions work well for you and your schedule.

If you would like to register (its free!) to join us for any of these sessions, please private message us or email us at [email protected].

The schedule is as follows:

Monday, June 15th: 4-5:15 am EST**
Monday, June 15th: 2-3:15 pm EST

Tuesday, June 16th: 8-9:15 am EST

Wednesday, June 17th: 4-5:15 am EST**
Wednesday, June 17th: 2-3:15 pm EST

Thursday, June 18th: 8-9:15 am EST

Friday, June 19th: 4-5:15 am EST**
Friday, June 19th: 2-3:15 pm EST

**These early morning sessions will consist of stories of how God has worked through the PPC in past years to move mountains in our ministries, and a time of reflection on why and how we pray. Given the inconvenient timing, we will make this content available afterwards to those who might want it.

"God, it is hilarious that you choose to work through us," one of our teammates added yesterday, during a time of prayer for missionaries, ministries, and church-plants all over the world.

Everyone in the room felt the truth in this prayer. We are not super-heroes, we are completely human. The great things that are happening around the world, and here in France, are not a result of our own efforts, but works of God's faithfulness.

We are completely reliant on God to work in our lives and our communities.

Will you come and join us in calling upon God to work?

Paris Prayer Connection, Day 5: One last church visit, and a Protestant History Tour of Paris.

Things we learned:

- God works in the least expected ways.
- God brings the right people together - with all different gifts - to do the work of His kingdom.
- I learned that God's plan is perfect, no matter what happens. It is always a great outcome when you are serving the Lord.

Things we prayed for:

- Bigger space for Suzy's church
- More visibility in the neighborhood.
- For J, a man in one of our Paris churches, to come to the Lord and his daughters.
- Growth in the church in the Paris 6th.
- God to win back the city of Paris, after many years of persecution.

Paris Prayer Connection, Day 4:

We visited 3 church-planting projects to the North of Paris.

We learned:
- Some missionaries have been very faithful right up to the end.
-In ministry, things might not always work first try, but don't be afraid to try again and see what the Lord does.
- About two individuals who's lives have been changed forever as a result of these church plants. They were each not necessarily closed to the idea of God, but they were just unaware of truth and confused about the meaning of life. This reminded us that many French people have simply never crossed paths with the Gospel.

We prayed:

-For a bigger building for the Gisors church plant (and praised God for the fact that its necessary).
- For an openness to the Gospel in this region of tiny villages.

21/06/2019

Thank you for joining us in our learning and prayer!

Paris Prayer Connection, Day 3:

What did we learn today?

- Every interaction is God-ordained.
- Church is about relationships and community not Sundays and buildings.
- God is faithful in the midst of spiritual opposition and He is more powerful than that opposition.
- The value of symbolic truth.
- Art should be full of God's image - it is a sub creation to God's ultimate creation.

What did we pray for?

- We prayed for wisdom to overcome cultural barriers to the gospel in France.
- For the Lord to give the French a feeling and the awareness of hope.
- For spiritual protection for the church planters and their families.
- For a new project that is in the process of getting started, geared at reaching university students in Paris.
- For individuals to partner with and support the work of V, a French Christian artist at our church in the Paris 6th, who is doing ministry through art.

Thank you for joining with us in prayer.

Paris Prayer Connection, Day 2:

Things we learned:

- Church plants look very different depending on the context.
- Don't overthink ministry: share your faith and love people.
- We learned more about the visions and the history of church plants to the south of Paris, from the suburbs, to old, tiny villages, and immigrant/Muslim villages.

Things we prayed for:

- That God would provide teammates to join in with some of these smaller-teams or individuals currently carrying on these projects
- That those in these areas would have access to community, and that they would be open to the gospel
- For believers who are facing loneliness and rejection. We prayed for loving community.
- For encouragement for the church planters that are already there in the south.

Couldn't be in Paris with us this summer, but still want to join us in praises and prayer?

Yesterday was Day 1 of the Paris Prayer Connection, and we...

Learned:
- That up until 1805, it was illegal to be a "protestant" Christian in France; and people were still arrested for their Christian faith up until 1865
- Today, 70% of the population of France has never heard of Evangelical Christianity - many who have, see it as a cult or as a foreign import
- There is currently only 1 evangelical church for every 29,000 people in France
- The average church-size in France is 35 members, compared to 75 in the United States
- If you exclude openly prosperity-preaching churches, there are only 2 or 3 churches in Paris with over 100 members
- The 15th district of Paris is the largest, and the most highly-populated, with over 200,000 habitants, and only 4 established evangelical churches

Praised:
- For safe travels and for the opportunity to pray to Him directly and together
- For the number of missionaries that He has brought to France over the last 100 years
- For the gift of Christ that unifies us as instant family (Ephesians 1)
- For the fact that while the percentage of evangelicals has not grown greatly in the last few years, their number has increased 13 times

Prayed:
- That more workers will be called and willing to reap a harvest in France
- That Evangelical Christianity might become more well, and accurately known across France through a strong testimony of unified believers
- That the Holy Spirit would be at work in revealing himself to hearts, softening them towards truth, and in making people hungry for the Gospel
- For the vision that France VIE has (along with the National Council of French Evangelicals) for 1 evangelical church for every 10,000
- For guidance and direction for the future vision of France VIE, its leaders, and its workers
- That FV's church plant in the 15th district of Paris, Eglise Sans Murs, would multiply 3 times in the next 18 months
- For financial and prayerful support of Augustin T. and Nicole D., two of the church plant's workers who are not yet fully supported

We are excited for those of you who will join us this year. There is much to pray about and learn about our country and area in France related to the Gospel. We are praying for you! Please pray for the team working in the background to get all ready. We believe God is going to do great things in France this coming year. He is at work, already, and we have the privilege to call upon him in a mighty way!
Super merci seigneur
