(10)

Each year our festival goers are treated to a variety of music genres from artists that travel here from different parts of the country, as well as some of our finest local performers. In addition to the music, you can enjoy some of the best blackpot jambalaya you’ve ever had, which is all prepared and cooked right here on the festival grounds. Did we mention camping? Yes we encourage you to bring your tent and spend the night with us. We’re set out in a beautiful cluster of oak trees on an 11 acre field, we have plenty of room! Don’t forget to bring your chairs, your ice chest with your favorite beverage, and your dancin’ shoes!

We’ve been going through old memorabilia from concerts we’ve gone to & came across this poster. Hank 3 at Grant Street Dancehall in Lafayette, LA.
We had met him previously at the Rinky Dink Dancehall. Super nice & talented guy. He performed 2 shows in one night, rockabilly then hard rock. He put on quite a show for both!

Happy New Year to all of you, from all of us!
🥂🥂Cheers to 2021 🥂 🥂
Many musicians have had a devastating year. Its been hard for listeners as well not having live music to take the weekly stresses off of their minds. Music is such a huge part of our culture. We will do our part in continuing to give a platform for musicians to showcase their talents. Our board is hard at work planning out the details for 2021!

We are ready for the New Year and can’t wait to share what Cow Island Productions has in store for you!

May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.
Psalm 20:4

“You've got a song you're singing from your gut, you want that audience to feel it in their gut. And you've got to make them think that you're one of them sitting out there with them too. They've got to be able to relate to what you're doing.” ~ Johnny Cash

🔺 A little Cow Island LIVE! background. Check out why we do what we do.

Hey y’all!
As we wrap up our fifth year, we thought we would give a little insight into what our festival is all about as well as the type of festival we want to create and strive to be.

Cow Island LIVE! is different from most other festivals in our area in that we book mostly artists performing their own original music. Our mission is to spotlight artists who perform their original music and to give them a platform to play these songs to an audience that wants to hear them. It’s exponentially harder for the songwriter in just about every way when it comes to getting by in the music biz. It’s much harder to book a show when doing your own songs, and the pay is usually much less. When you do get booked, it’s a fight just to get to the first chorus before the requests for Kenny Chesney or Journey start coming in. When an artist puts pen to paper they are pouring themselves out on that page. Writing songs is a job. It can be stressful and emotional; it’s not easy. If it were, everyone would do it. For all of the work and stress, the time alone writing, and the disappointments, there is also great reward. There are few things better to a songwriter than having someone telling them how great his/her last song is. Or when someone tells them how he and his friends played their album on repeat at last night’s BBQ. When a crowd of people are singing their songs back to them as they leave it all on the stage, it makes it worth it. That’s their reward. They put these songs out into the universe and it’s reaching someone. This is why they do it. Take time to download that local artist’s album or single. You’re helping them and you just might find your new favorite song. For 5 years, the CIL audience has been more welcoming and supportive of these artists than we ever dreamed. Not only have we noticed, but so have the bands. We can’t tell you how many times an artist has told us how great the audience and the vibe was. It’s the highest compliment we could probably get. Thank you all for supporting CIL for 5 great years and for helping bring all of this great music to Vermilion Parish.
