Dear Students,
It is with heavy heart and with much agonizing that I must announce that we are unable to continue with a Spring Performance for 2020. There are many factors behind the scenes that contributed to this decision not the least if which is the restrictions in place due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
I'm sure most of you saw the writing on the wall but I was trying to be hopeful. When things calm down, possibly in June, I will schedule a time when you can come by the studio and pick up your costumes.
Please stay tuned on studio updates.
I miss everyone and I can't wait till we can hug again. Please stay safe.
Ms Cindy

Today the Abilene Mayor announced that as of Tuesday, March 31 at noon the Abilene community is to go into a 'Limited Shelter in Place' order and all non-essential business are to close until April 14, 2020. It breaks my heart but must be done in order to be proactive in the protection of our community. So Dance, Ltd. School of Dance will continue to be dark. But that doesn't mean your soul can't continue to dance.
I respectfully ask that all costume balances be paid ASAP. It is going to be difficult to meet the financial needs of the studio if all my money is tied up in costumes. You can contact me about paying your balance on your Credit Card or you can mail your Costume Balance to - or drop off at Dance, Ltd. - School of Dance, 2347 N 6th Street, Suite 8, Abilene, Texas. 79603. If you require any additional information email me at [email protected] or you can message me on Facebook.
Please stay safe and may God wrap you and your family in his protective arms.

This is a copy of Dance, Ltd. - School of Dance Spring Production of "Cinderella" from 2013. (I actually like some of the choreography from the 2001 version but the disc was corrupted and we couldn't download it.)

Jonny Cates of Towerscope Productions put this on You Tube for us and also said:
'The link is unlisted...So you’ll have to copy the link and send out to everybody or post the link on the dance limited website but you can’t search it and find it you have to have the link.'

Please watch the video and get familiar with your part. We have several changes. One being we are using birds instead of butterflies in the opening sequence with Cinderella. If you have questions you can message me. I hope to start some limited rehearsals with soloists in the coming week.

Most likely our Spring Production will have to be postponed as we had barely begun to learn our choreography. Costume deposits are still due on April 1st. As soon as I know when we have the all clear we will resume classes.

03/23/2020

At this time Dance, Ltd. - School of Dance is closed until further notice. Please follow the orders set out by the CDC, our Governor and City Mayor to ensure this Pandemic is over as soon as possible. I miss all of my students terribly and can't wait to hug everyone. Try to keep stretching and moving.

UPDATED 3/19/2020 - 5:52
I hope everyone is taking precautions to stay safe and healthy. It has been decided that Dance, Ltd. - School of Dance is to stay closed one more week and reopen on March 30th (possibly longer to April 3rd). David and I have been in self-quarantine since traveling out of state for Spring Break. We have eight more days to go and so far symptom free.
Normally we would follow the AISD schedule for class cancellations but I can't afford to close indefinitely. Everyone is as anxious as I am to return to class. Today at noon the Texas Governor dropped the group gatherings to ten or less. All gyms, schools and eating establishments (except take out, pick up or delivery) are ordered closed. Even if we reopened I don't imagine everyone will be back right away and we should still be able to follow the group gathering guidelines. The plan now is to just push back the classes and add a couple additional weeks the end of the semester. So tuition payments and costume balance payments remain the same. I am in contact with HSU about the performance venue and will adjust if necessary to stay within the CDC guidelines. Should things continue we will transition to some sort of online format.
My utmost concern is for the health and safety of my dance family. I love you all and my heart breaks for the disruption this has caused in our lives. When we return to classes every precaution will be taken from sanitization to keeping distance between students and forego holding hands & using the Ballet Barre.
I feel the students need some sense of normalcy in their lives as well as exercise. I want to be their soft place to fall where they can feel safe and loved.
In times like this the fact we are a small studio becomes an advantage. Please continue to pray and wash your hands!

03/14/2020

After much considertion and in an abundance of caution I have decided to continue Spring Break at Dance, Ltd. - School of Dance thru next week, March 16-20. Classes wil ressume again on Monday, March 23.
Any classes missed will be added to the end of the semester. At this time as far as I know our performance is still on for May 16th. Costume Balances are due on April 1st.
Please stay safe and healthy.

As per studio policy we cancel classes at Dance, Ltd - School of Dance when AISD cancels. Even though it is supposed to warm up this afternoon things will take a turn when the sun goes down. I need to stop second guessing myself and stick to policy. So classes are canceled today and I will see everyone next week. Valentine's classes are Tuesday and Wednesday during normal class time.
In a side note they are supposed to be replacing the roof at the Studio on Monday.

02/05/2020

COSTUME DEPOSITS - We have selected our Spring Performance of the ballet “Cinderella”. I will be measuring the students this week and we will be ordering our custom made performance costumes that take 10-12 weeks to manufacture and ship. The costume companies require that I submit a minimum of 50% in order to begin production of our costumes. In order to receive them prior to our Spring Production in May we need to order the costumes no later than the second week of February. Please be prepared to place a $50.00 deposit (per costume) no later than February 10th. You will be receiving a statement with your costume balance. Costume balances will be due April 1, 2020.
VALENTINE CLASS – We normally we hold our Valentine’s Day Class the class before or on the actual holiday. This year Valentine’s Day falls on a Friday, but because I have a conflict on Thursday, Feb, 13 the Valentine Celebration Classes will be held during normal class time on Tuesday, February 11 for the T-TH classes and Wednesday, February 12 for the M-W classes. For the Valentine’s class they get “Treats for being Sweet”. Please send a treat to share with their classmates (if candy it needs to be individually wrapped). If the younger Level I & Level II students want to pass out valentines to their classmates it makes it much easier if they could address the Valentines to: "My Ballet friend" or "My Ballet Buddy", we can pass them out much quicker at the end of class.

Here is the Meal Train for Ms. Cindy and her hubby Mr. Dave. Please remember that she is having knee surgery on Monday. Prayers for the doctors, nurses, and all the staff at the hospital for God to bless the work of their hands. Prayers for a quick recovery and for her to be back teaching our babies! We love you Ms. Cindy!!!

Can anyone give me any info about how to contact Jonny Cates or whomever the videographer was about the video of the performance? In the handout Ms Cindy said that there would be registration forms at the dress rehearsal but I forgot to get one. Thanks!
