This is over 70 pairs of brand new socks donated to Gifts to Give! The volunteer who accepted our donation? A former Acushnet Public Schools band parent!

Thanks to all who supported us this year and to Custom Fundraising Solutions Providence for the donation of the socks.

It’s almost that time of the year to start thinking about band next year.

Want to know about whether band is for you or your son/daughter? 🤔

There’s still a chance for them to perform with us before the end of the year. 🙌

Students should come to the NBHS Graduation Band rehearsal on Wednesday, June 9th from 5-8pm in the NBHS Gym 4 & 5. We will be preparing Pomp and Corcumstance for the NBHS Graduation on Thursday, June 10th. Students should see Mr. Pacheco or their middle school band director for more information and the music. We hope to see many #futurewhalers ar our rehearsal and final performance of the 2020-2021 school year!!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the music moms!

#MothersDay

To the mothers who patiently listened as we were learning to play the right notes, and to the ones who encouraged us even when we didn't get it quite right;

to the moms who toted us back and forth to countless lessons, and who expected us to practice even when we didn't want to;

to the grandmas and step-mothers who remind us time and again how proud they are of us;

to the moms that are our biggest fans, even when it embarrasses us a little bit:

Thank you. We are grateful always.

December usually means sing-alongs and concerts, but the band room is quiet this year. Time to change that! Here’s some jazzy holiday cheer from Mr. Shanbrun

Free summer choir camp!

FREE VIRTUAL CHOIR SUMMER CAMP

The RI Children’s Chorus and RI High School Honor Choir will offer a series of six FREE summer voice classes for three levels (ages 7-9, ages 10-13, and ages 14-18) taught by outstanding Rhode Island Children’s Chorus staff members. The program includes:

• Learning and rehearsal of age appropriate repertoire, including Broadway repertoire, Disney songs (youngest students), and beloved choral works.
• Vocal training / healthy singing technique
• Music theory, sight-singing, and ear training
• Virtual choir performance at the end of the session
• Self-esteem and community building

Schedule (six weeks):
• Ages 7-9: Tuesdays at 4:00pm from June 23-July 28. Instructor: Mrs. Sarah Prickel-Kane
• Ages 10-13: Wednesdays at 4:00pm from June 24-July 29. Instructors: Dr. Christine Noel and Mrs. Olivia Black
• Ages 14-18: Thursdays at 4:00pm from June 25-July 30. Instructor: Dr. Christine Noel

The classes are completely FREE of charge and are open to students in Rhode Island and beyond. The Rhode Island Children’s Chorus staff understands that many summer plans have been canceled due to the pandemic and it’s important to us that children have an enriching experience they can count on during the summer weeks.

PLEASE SHARE with other families whose children might be interested.

Classes are free of charge, but you must register to secure your child’s place in our summer camp program. Please fill out the form below:
