We’re excited to announce this year’s Festival of the Holy Name and invite you to participate in a month-long festival!

As you can imagine, this year’s festival will differ significantly from previous years. The pandemic has caused us to pause and carefully consider how we can safely and effectively serve you, our community, and the Holy Name.

By extending the duration of the festival, we hope to facilitate maximum participation by everyone in our community to connect in kirtan together and immerse ourselves in the Holy Name!

Dear Devotees,

We're excited to announce Festival of the Holy Name 2020!

As you can imagine, this year’s festival will differ significantly from previous years. The pandemic has caused us to pause and carefully consider how we can safely and effectively serve you, our community, and the Holy Name. (We also thank you for the feedback many of you gave in our recent survey.)

These uncertain times present us with an opportunity to bring peace and relief into our lives and to safely come together as a community to uplift ourselves by chanting the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra.

Therefore, we’d like to invite you to participate in a month-long Festival of the Holy Name during the entire month of Kartik. By extending the duration of the festival, we hope to facilitate maximum participation by everyone in our community to connect in kirtan together and immerse ourselves in the Holy Name.

The following is the basic outline of Festival of the Holy Name 2020:

- The first 3 weeks of Kartik will feature evening kirtans by different groups in our Alachua community and will be streamed online only.

- The 4th week of Kartik will feature evening programs held outdoors with limited in-person attendance and will also be streamed live.

- The 4th week will also feature the reopened Global Pandemic Kirtan: 24 hours of nonstop, live-streamed kirtans from around the world.

- On Thanksgiving weekend, the final offering of kirtan will take place at an outdoor location, with in-person attendance, and streamed live.

All in-person events will require registration and have safety guidelines and physical distancing rules. We request that only local community members attend the in-person events.

Details and locations will be announced soon. Please stay tuned!

Harer Namaiva Kevalam!

Sincerely your servants,
Festival of the Holy Name Team

We want to hear from you 🙏🏽

We want to hear from you 🙏🏽

Dear Devotees,

Every Thanksgiving weekend since 2010, our New Raman Reti community takes part in the Festival of the Holy Name. Our festival crew creates a spiritual space to bring the community together in chanting the Holy Name of the Lord for 24+ hours, calling out for blessings into our lives and for the world at large.

Due to the current circumstances around the world, we know that the festival cannot take place in the usual way. However, our group of volunteers is still committed to serving our community to the best of our abilities and we believe the power of Hari Nam Sankirtan, chanting the Holy Names together, is needed now, more than ever. Even in today’s strange environment, we believe we can create a spiritual space that is safe, compliant with local regulations, and yet full of the joy and power of calling out the Maha-Mantra together.

Because we do this to serve all of you, we want to hear from all of you. We have created the following survey to help us understand how we can serve all of you properly. Please give us your sincere feedback.
Hare Krsna.

Sincerely your servants,
Festival of the Holy Name Team

Dear friends, Nadiya Mani and I are happy to announce the release of our first studio collaboration: ‘Ocean of Mercy’

Feelings of melancholy have pervaded the global Vaisnava family after the loss of my beloved Godbrother, His Holiness Bhakti Charu Swami. Inspired by Maharaja’s surrendered life at the lotus feet of our spiritual master, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, we dedicate this song to him and his followers.

“Just as clouds drink water from the ocean and shower their rain upon the parched earth, enlightened spiritual masters receive mercy from the ocean of mercy, Lord Sri Krishna, and shower that mercy on our burning hearts like a cooling rain.”

We humbly offer this song to you all, with the hope that you find shelter in the poetry of the 17th century Vaishnava saint, Srila Vishvanatha Chakravarti Thakura.

Festival of the Holy Name to Hold Ten Days of Kirtan for Tenth Anniversary

Festival of the Holy Name is celebrating its 10th anniversary with Iskcon Alachua and here's an ISKCON News article about it.

The festival began in 2010, when second generation devotees Govinda Syer, Gaura Shakti Allin and Govinda Cordua decided to create an immersive experience for Alachua community members who couldn’t make it to kirtan events around the country.

Visvambhar Sheth

My hometown, Alachua Florida, is home to the largest Hare Krsna community in North America (and possibly outside of India). The first generation Krsna devotees started this open-minded community. My generation (second gen) grew up here, and now our kids are growing up here.
.
The “Festival of the Holy Name” is a time for the whole community to come together and celebrate Thanksgiving in the most beautiful way, chanting together. This year we are celebrating the 10th anniversary with 10 days of Kirtan (7 days of pre-celebration evenings leading up to 2 days of 12hr Kirtan and a Sunday after party :).
.
Come celebrate Kirtan with 3 (even 4) generations of Kirtan families! It’s our birthright.

Wow, wow, WoW. This Festival lives in my heart. Thank you so so much to all of you who have showed up for TEN YEARS to bring us this Kirtan experience with loads of grace, fun and creativity. My one and only regret is not taking a selfie in the Children’s activity tent with Kalindi. This woman ROCked her service this year, putting in as much time as I did and with two littles! She is amazing and I’m sO lucky to be on her team💚Thanks girl, it was fun and rest up, cause next year will be here before you know it!🙌🏻🙌🏻
Thankful for this amazing festival every year! Does anyone know if sevaradhika mataji is singing?😍
Still time to make it!!Festival of the Holy Name!!!!

Wrenching Kirtan
Words cannot truly express the value of how the Festival of The Holy Name cares for me and my devotional service. Thank you so much to everyone who set up, shopped, managed, cooked, washed, chanted, played, joyfully, lovingly and earnestly brining people together to look Krsna’s way. A big warm thank you also to everyone who worked in the children’s tent and helped them be their creative, devotional and happy selves; Danielle Leonard, Kalindi Dalchand, Veronica Andrea’s Narayani and Krishna Shakti, Mira Rose-Dewill, Ritu Mishra, Lalita D Pourchot-Leslie’s Karuna, Radhika Rani Fitch’s Vrini and everyone else who stopped in with a mood of service to the children...it was gREAt working with you🙏🏻☮️💗.
SO AWESOME!!!!
