The Alameda Elks hosted its annual charity night last night to raise money for the various things we contribute to within our community: music in schools, veterans, CHEMPI, and more. We turned the Lodge into "The Love Boat." Thanks to all members and guests who came out to have a little fun and raise a little cash.

Alameda Elks Community Wide Blood Drive
Sunday, August 29th
11:00am to 4:15pm

Right now, Vitalant has an urgent need for blood and platelet donors of all blood types to make an appointment in the coming days and weeks to help save lives. Blood usage by patients has increased as people seek medical care they put off during the height of the pandemic and as people resume activities that can lead to more traumas. The need for type O blood is especially urgent. Type O is the most transfused blood type. O-negative is what emergency room personnel reach for when there is not time to determine a patient’s blood type. Every two seconds a patient in the U.S. needs a transfusion and 100% of that blood comes from volunteer donors.

As people get ready to go back to regular routines, whether it’s back to school or the office, Vitalant urges blood donors to include blood donation on that to-do list. Vitalant encourages donors to schedule an appointment at a community blood drive if their regular workplace, school or place of worship blood drive is canceled. Donors are urged to make an appointment today to give in the days and weeks ahead. Happy Birthday America! Our country isn’t perfect, but we always move forward trying to make it a better place for everyone who calls America home. We have our differences, but we are all allowed to express them. It’s OK for us to disagree on different issues and points of view, but in the end we are all Americans. Our perspectives will never all aligned and that is what makes this Country great! The expressions of those perspectives without fear of retaliation from The Government. So, for toda, let’s put our differences aside and celebrate this great Country of ours …. 🇺🇸 The United States of America!

And always remember, America is the Lsnd of the FREE, because of the BRAVE!

Happy Independence Day to one and all!

A very Happy St. Patrick's Day to all our members, family and friends!

While we celebrate our 'Irishness' today, as an Alameda Elk this date holds another equally important significance. Today, in 1906, Alameda Lodge No. 1015 of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks was Instituted; our very first Exalted Ruler was installed along with his corps of Officers; and our first Inaugural Ball was held at Woodmen's Hall in Alameda.

Happy 115th Anniversary to 'the Liveliest Lodge In Elkdom!' Here's to the next 115!
