Serving the Community through Arts & Agriculture
Our facility serves the community by providing a central location for all agricultural offices and agencies within the county. We also house the largest performing arts venue in the county and cater to a wide variety of events throughout the year. With the recent Lobby expansion completed in 2017, we are now able to better accommodate large banquets as well.
Pictured above is the original ground-breaking ceremony for the Stanly County Agri-Civic Center. The Civic Center offices were completed in the fall of 1988, and the Center’s Auditorium opened the following summer with comedian Jerry Clower playing to a packed house. It was such a hit that he returned each year until his passing, always finding an appreciative Stanly County audience. Throughout the years, the Center has hosted many other events, such as those presented by the Stanly County Concert Association, musicals and drama by the Uwharrie Players, southern gospel and bluegrass concerts by local and regional promoters and many church- related events. Each year, several national and international dance competitions utilize the entire building for their events. The Stanly County Arts Council presents annual programs by regionally and nationally-known artists for Stanly County School students and the general public. The school system utilizes the facility for graduation ceremonies for the local high schools. And, of course, the agricultural agencies housed therein utilize the building frequently for meetings, workshops, and educational events. The facility is available for rent for both private and public events. Call 704-986-3666 to inquire about rental.
