Small town, big celebration. Come join in the fun July 11, 2020! Albin Day Committee:
It is with a heavy heart that we have decided to cancel the 92nd Albin Day. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak and current health regulations, it would be irresponsible of us to host crowds inside the community center for meals and events. This was a tough decision to make, but we feel like public safety comes first. We look forward to resuming the annual tradition next year. The Tim Malm Junior Rodeo is still a go down at the arena. For questions regarding Albin Day please contact chairman Jillian McLaughlin. Thanks, and see you all next year.
We know that you’re all waiting to hear if Albin Day will go on as planned. The original slated date would be Saturday, July 11th. We are currently waiting on answers from health departments and other agencies to determine what the best course of action is. We will continue to discuss it, and will update as soon as we can. Thank you for your patience!
We would like to introduce you to the 91st Albin Day Grand Marshals, Jack and Jerrene Randall.
Jack and Jerrene Randall live on her grandfather, William and Chloe Miller's homestead farm located six miles west of Albin. William Miller came to Wyoming to homestead in 1907 from Ohio.
Jack and Jerrene lived in Kimball, NE prior to moving to the farm full time in 2008. Jerrene grew up in the Albin community and graduated from Albin High School in 1958. She was self employed, owning a custom drapery shop in Kimball.
Jack was employed by DRW in Pine Bluffs and then the Kimball Co-op as an agronomist since 1976. Both Jack and Jerrene are retired.
Jack and Jerrene have four children and 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Albin Day will be Saturday, July 13. The festivities begin with a pancake breakfast at 8 am at the fire hall. Following will be parades, the theme is “Work Hard, Play Hard.” There will be races, a craft fair, a softball tournament with proceeds going towards Rusty Kohler’s medical expenses, and a horseshoe tournament. After the night show fireworks will be sponsored by LCFD3, and the night will end with a street dance. Hope to see you there!
