We are happy to announce the first performances of our 2021 season!
‘Sometime When Everything Has Changed’ a play brought to you by Boston University School of Theatre & Senior Theatre Arts Majors Productions Written by Michael Valladares & Directed by Frances Hellums.
Performances on April 24th (11AM & 2PM) and May 8th (11AM & 2PM).
Admission is FREE- reserve your spot through the ticket link here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/150750979237

Synopsis: An attempt at bringing an imaginative, direct, and developmentally appropriate approach to disease discourse in this moment, we follow Romeo and Sofia through their playground adventures when a magical notebook falls out of the sky and lands between them. When they learn the notebook can time travel, they set out to go back to before, when everything was okay. On this journey they are shown scary things and beautiful things from other times, but Sofia is unable to find the 'before feeling' she’s looking for anywhen. Sofia tinkers with their time machine, accidentally opening a portal to a time before anything. When she’s one foot in on her way out, Romeo brings her back to the playground by showing her the scary and beautiful parts of the time they come from. Through imagination, Sofia and Romeo find resilience in the present.

There is a 150 person capacity at the amp due to the current City Of Boston restrictions. We encourage everyone to reserve a spot through the eventbrite ticket link. MASKS ARE REQUIRED! Thank you and see you very soon!

In 2018, our Conservancy Volunteers completed a multi-year clean up of the Herter Park Amphitheater. Each summer, the revitalized outdoor performance space hosts music and theater shows organized by our partners at Friends of Herter Park.

We're counting down to the new year with 10 of our biggest accomplishments over the course of our 20 year history! Help us continue our essential work stewarding the Charles River parks by making a year-end donation today: thecharles.org/theriverbank

Are dogs allowed in the park? ... can we bring the dog to the Amphitheater, if we stay in the back?
Please book the band Neighbor to play there. They are amazing and will fill that place up. They are a boston based band and growing very quickly.
Will you be live streaming tonight's show? Stuck in the hospital, and want to see my Teseractes!
Herter Park is a miracle reborn bringing a wonderful venue to the community with enriched cultural events. Last Friday I brought 2 friends who never heard of Herter Park to the opening night of Measure for Measure. The set design, lighting, sound and costumes were excellent. The actors gave a tremendous performance. Highly professional. It is clean, welcoming venue, and it was wonderful to watch Shakespeare under the stars. My friends were impressed. I am grateful to all the volunteers who have worked so hard to bring this back and appreciate all the different music, theater and fun for all to experience thought the summer..... Thank you
Sometimes Brighton feels like a small town. We were very happy to join the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the re-opening of Herter Park next to the Charles River. Come support this beautiful and revitalized public amphitheater performance space right in our community. Most of the attendees were representatives and folks involved with the revitalization effort over the past several years through the public-private partnerships. But after several moving speeches, a serenade of the hopeful song "Over the Rainbow" by the Statewide Director of the Department of Conservation and Recreation (!), and some twilight stage group karaoke, I felt a part of the family of Herter supporters and became one too. Keep an eye out for multiple (free!!!!) events in this inspiring neighborhood space. Bring your bug spray and bring your friends. And maybe become a supporter too.
