Kaitlin Sanger has been a dedicated 4-H participant for 14 years! Kaitlin’s main focus at fair has been horses but she has also shown swine, sheep, goats, chickens, rabbits, feeders and still exhibits. For those of you that know Kaitlin, it won’t surprise you to know that her favorite exhibit to show is horses. Working with her horse year-round for many years is part of what draws Kaitlin. The opportunity to participate in many classes over many days with her horse is always a lot of fun and she loves to see how everyone has improved from year to year.

Kaitlin will never forget winning Grand Champion Large Animal Overall. That was the first day that she had ever shown cattle!

Pictured: “This photo is at my first IHSA Regional show where I rode for the University of Findlay and placed 3rd in a tough class of my fellow teammates. I chose this photo because IHSA reminds me a lot of the GCFFY through the camaraderie and confidence it takes to get into the show pen. (I am 4th from left)”

Kaitlin, you are an amazing young lady. We wish you the best of luck in your future and are excited to have you back at fair as a #gcffy alumni! #MichiganFairs #FairStrong

Chloe Brittain has been a dedicated 4-H participant for 13 years! While gaining experience showing sheep, goats, poultry, rabbits, dog, alpaca, feeder, Chloe found that showing her dog is her absolute favorite. “My favorite exhibit was my dog. The bond between dogs and humans is amazing to me and to be able to work with him and show him at the fair was very rewarding. I would like to train and incorporate therapy dogs into my work as a physical therapist in the future and the GCFFY created the foundation for that.”

Pictured: I had just won poultry showmanship. I was so excited from the show and the opportunity to compete in overall small animal showmanship sweepstakes again.

Chloe, you are an intelligent young lady and we know that you will be successful in whatever you choose today. We hope to see you back at the fair representing the #gcffy alumni! #MichiganFairs #FairStrong

Paige Garberson has been a dedicated 4-H participant for 14 years! Over the years, Paige has successfully shown pigs, horses, dogs and feeders. Her favorite of those, though, was showing her horse. Paige loved riding with her friends and having shows almost every day at fair. In fact, Paige’s favorite memory was when her hard work with her horse Lacey paid off in 2014, winning English equitation!

Pictured: The day Paige brought home her pig Willard. He is the first pig she raised and she loved the experience.

Paige, we wish you the best of luck and we know you will do great things as a #gcffy alumni! #MichiganFairs #FairStrong

Dylan Macha has been a dedicated 4-H participant for 14 years! Dylan not only has shown pigs but he is a well-rounded 4-H’er who also has entered many still exhibits, such as baked goods, crafts, woodworking, photography, collections and educational displays. Of all his exhibits, however, pigs are his favorite. Dylan loves putting in the time raising them all summer and then competing with them at fair.

“This is my very last project as a GCFFY participant. A year that has definitely been different from any other, but I am happy I get to show my last year.” -Dylan

Dylan, we can’t wait to watch you show this year and we are even more anxious to see what you do as a #gcffy alumni! #MichiganFairs #FairStrong

Kylie Slavik has been a dedicated 4-H participant for 10 years! During those years, Kylie has shown several different large animal species. Early on, Kylie started her showmanship years with feeders, moving to beef and sheep, and, lastly, pigs, adding some dairy in during that time as well. Of all the animals Kylie has shown over the past 10 years, her very first feeder was her absolute favorite as the two of them went on to win Grand Champion that year! I think a lot of us can relate with Kylie’s favorite memory…eating “Pizza Sam's pizza every Tuesday night after the steer show and settle down at the camper after all the madness. A lot of my favorite memories involve showing at the fair with my siblings.”

“The Gratiot County Fair has been a huge part of my life growing up. All of my siblings have exhibited their and everyone has truly become like family to me. Exhibiting at this fair has shaped me to be a hard and responsible worker, as well as to be grateful for all the things I have. I have learned a lot through 4-H and will miss it dearly.” -Kylie

Kylie, we hope that this is your best year yet and we look forward to having you back as #gcffy alumni in new and exciting roles! #MichiganFairs #FairStrong
