Our goal is to provide a fun, educational dance experience. Students will learn the disciplined art of dance and movement in a structured classroom setting.
A Studio History DuHadway Dance Dimensions began as Linda Lee Dance Studio. Linda Lee Abbott was the owner of the studio. She started teaching dance lessons in the living room of the house at 713 Third Ave. when she was 18 years old. The holes from the dance barres are still in the hard wood floors in our living room. In the 1960’s, two dance studios, one on top of the other, were added onto the back of the house. It was used as the main studio space for over 40 years. Jillian began teaching for Linda Lee when she was a junior in college at CMU in 1989. She taught for two years and left the studio to finish her teaching degree. Before leaving she talked with Linda Lee about purchasing the studio after she and Rob were married. At that time, the studio was promised to another buyer. In the spring, before Rob and Jillian were married, Jillian received a letter from Linda Lee. The letter told them that the studio was still available. Jillian literally fell down on her parents kitchen floor. She still keeps that letter, that came in a pretty purple envelope, in a drawer in their home. Summer 1992 was very exciting as Jillian graduated from college, Rob and Jillian were married in August and moved into the house/studio one week later. The studio opened its doors in September with about 120 students. Linda Lee stayed on and worked hand in hand with Rob and Jillian for three years as they struggled to learn and grow to keep the business going. An opportunity presented itself in 1994. A dance and gymnastics studio in Ithaca became available and the DuHadway’s saw it as a way to grow their business and serve more young dancers in Central Michigan. A relationship with Miss Barb began in 1994 when Rob and Jillian purchased the Ithaca studio. Barb Lowe was on the staff with the previous owner so we “inherited” her. DDD is truly blessed to still have her on staff today. Rob took over running a gym with uneven bars, vaulting horse, Olympic size balance beam and floor area while Jillian kept a staff to run the dance studio. The business was very small with approximately 30 dancers, but the DuHadways were determined to make it work. After two years, they decided to sell off the gymnastics equipment due to high insurance premiums and lack of quality instructors in the area. Their focus would be on dance – just dance. That is what they do best and where they planned to focus all of their energy. DuHadway Dance continued in Ithaca on the third floor dance studio on Center St. In 1999, they expanded the Ithaca studio to include a large dance studio space that once housed the gym. Classes started being moved from Alma to Ithaca as the studio began to grow at a rapid rate. DuHadway Dance Dimensions continued to grow and evolve into the new millennium. Spring 2005 brought the decision to consolidate the two studio locations into one large studio complex. The search was on for the ideal location. We found the perfect space in the rear of the Northtown Plaza in Alma. The large space we use for our studios today had been a fitness center. With the help of many studio families, renovations began in August of 2005 and we opened our doors in October 2005. Over the past 10 years we have added hip hop and tumbling programs, survived an economic depression, made a successful facility move, raised our two children and are proud to share an amazing staff and facility with our community and many guest artists each year. DuHadway Dance Dimensions has one of the finest studios in the State of Michigan.

👏 Amazing Dying Swan in the street 👏
All the dying swan are not in the opera. Lil Buck is telling us a story with his wonderful interpretation.
His strong mastering of waving, balance, sliding and gliding and his high flexibility produced this wonderful result.

Pass the word to dance friends that were not part of our April and May classes.
Today, DDD celebrates Mykala Smith.
Mykala has been dancing with us for just 4 years, but she worked hard and quickly established herself as a member of the advanced ballet classes, graduated to pointe work, kept adding new subjects and is a dedicated teacher assistant.
She is a beautiful soul that we are blessed to have had the pleasure to work with during her high school years.
Here is some information she sent to us to share with DDD families:
I started dancing at 5 years old but stopped at 9. However, I decided shortly after moving to Michigan that I would dance again. I enrolled at DuHadway my Freshman year of high school and I have been dancing with DDD for the past 4 years.
I remember watching through the window the other girls my age during my first year. They were amazing and they were en pointe. I am grateful that I eventually got the chance to dance alongside them. The class of 2020 has an amazing group of dancers and I am honored to be a part of it.
I thank God for giving me these past few years with DDD. I am thankful for all of my dance teachers, as well as the teachers I have assisted. I could not be where I am today without their help. I also want to thank my family for generously supporting me.
I plan to continue my dance education this Fall. College is not an option for me right now so I am exploring other possibilities.
My parents are selling their amazing house - check out their listing on Zillow and pass it along to anyone you know that might be looking. THANKS DDD family!

Today DDD celebrates Rachel Reyes.
Rachel has attended St. Louis schools and most recently home schooled. She has a large, fun loving personality and everyone at DDD knows her silly laugh. Rachel has participated in Hip Hop, Jazz, tap and ballet classes during her years at DDD. This year she is taking jazz and hip hop.
She sent us this information to share with DDD families:
15 years of dancing with DDD
My favorite memories are having a bunch of giggles and trying on costumes
I thank Mrs. Jillian for supporting me through my dance years!
My future plans are to become an interior/mechanical engineer designer, and a professional dance teacher!
Good luck in the future Rachel and thank you for asking me to help you create the senior solo dedicated to your grandpa❤️
On the eve of what would have been our 28th annual recital and her senior recital, DDD celebrates Lexi Maas.
Lexi is a graduate of Shepherd High School. She participates in ballet, tap, jazz and has done some tumbling, too. Lexi has been a teacher assistant over the years and is on our Elite competition team.
She and her DDD classmates recently volunteered their time to present FROZEN and TROLLS themed classes for young dancers via zoom. Lexi is extremely generous with her time and talents and always participates in opportunities to share her love of dance and life with our community. DDD has loved watching Lexi grow up and sharing in her successes and also supporting her during tough times. She is passionate and FUNNY and her dedication and commitment will be passed on to future DDD dancers. Congrats Lexi!
Here is some information that she sent us to share with DDD families:
I’ve been dancing at DDD for 15 years now and I’ve been on the team for 11.
Some of my favorite memories are being backstage during solos and cheering for everyone. The amount of energy and love I felt backstage was unreal and I’ll never forget those times.
I would like to thank my parents for all the hours they spent driving me to and from dance and to my seniors Emma, Sarah, Danielle, Rose, and Paige thank you for always being by my side. I will forever cherish the memories we’ve made together. Love you always.
I will be attending GVSU in the fall and intend to major in Social Work.
