About Our Instructors: Heather O. Van Wieren A graduate of the Music Industry program at Western Carolina University, Heather has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in music with Voice as the primary instrument. While at WCU, she was President of the University Chorus, Historian and Librarian for the Concert Choir and also Choral Assistant to Dr. Robert Holquist for the 1994-1996 semesters. Heather has 20 years of experience in private voice instruction, competition and pageant coaching, church choir, ensemble direction and piano proficiency/accompanying. She also worked in the entertainment industry at the Loyd Agency in Asheville, NC booking and helping manage talent for events. Heather has previously taught at Voices of Praise, 5-6-7-8 Dance in the Atlanta Area and Cornerstone Fine Arts Institute (all private studios). She was the Studio Director for the Fine Arts Institute at Cornerstone Assembly of God in Anderson, SC managing over 100 students and teaching 80 of the students monthly in private and group sessions. She has also worked in various churches in the Upstate, SC area, Western North Carolina and the Piedmont area of North Carolina. Heather currently operates โSing and Play Upstateโ. Sing and Play serves students of all ages who study piano, voice and guitar in Anderson, SC. She is also the Music Teacher at Anderson Christian School and Alpha Omega Homeschool group in Anderson, SC.

Ashton and her cousin Zach who just happens to be the worship leader at Hillsong NYC! Ashton and I have been working on Oceans this fall. And she got to sing it with Hillsong's worship leader!!!! I'm proud as punch of her!!
