If you are skiing with folks or have passengers on board outside your immediate family please use face coverings on-board and when launching/retrieving. When non-immediate family members are on board, please have soap solution and clean rinse water on board to wash shared gear between skiers and to wipe down the vessel controls between driver changes. We are all in this together. Have fun and be safe

05/26/2020

With the recent heavy rainfalls and high water level, there may be debris and floating hazards at or just below the surface. Upon arriving at the course, please make sure the course and skier path is clear of hazards before skiing by taking a slow speed run without a skier up and back through the course while looking for obstacles in the boat and skier paths. Be safe.

A competition water ski slalom course comprises entrance and exit gates at each end and six turn buoys between them. Skiers must go through the entrance gate, round all six buoys and exit through the gates at the end. With each successful pass, the boat speed is increased. Once the maximum boat speed is achieved, then the rope is shortened. The turn buoys are 37.5 feet from the center of the course. At 38 off and beyond the rope is not long enough to reach the turn buoys. At these line lengths, the skier must stretch their body out in order to complete the turn. The current world record holders:
Regina Jaquess (USA) 4 @ 10.25m (41 off) 07/16/18
Nate Smith (USA) 2-1/2 @ 9.75m (43 off) 09/07/13
