Aleah Hutchinson from East Limestone High School and Pleasant Grove Church, who won first place in the ages 16-18 category, wrote her essay on the King quote, “We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools.”

Hutchinson said African-Americans must be more accountable for their actions and respect each other as they demand respect from other races.

“We rob and kill each other daily over tennis shoes and electronics on the same streets where Dr. King led marches,” she said. “When we learn to live together peacefully, others will learn to live peacefully with us.”

ABUSED ALABAMIANS VOTE AGAINST ROY MOORE FOR U.S. SENATE!!!: I am deeply concerned, and I am even far more deeply troubled by former Alabama State Judge Roy Moore's absolutely shocking answer to a question from an African American Alabamian in the audience at his September 2017 campaign rally in Florence, Alabama. The African-American Alabamian asked Judge Moore when did he think America was last "great". Former Judge Moore acknowledged America's horrible history of racism and slavery, but so sadly stated also fully endorsed it in the same breathe when he stated, "I think it was great at the time when families were united — even though we had slavery — they cared for one another.... Our families were strong, our country had a direction." Slavery in America robbed, raped, ruined, broke up, sold off, and literally destroyed Black families. Only a true disciple of the evil trinity of racism, classism, and sexism, could ever say that "our" families were strong during slavery. We must rise up now as a true Christ centered coalition consisting of every ethnic group known to hurting humanity, and challenge all abused Alabamians to vote against Roy Moore for U.S. Senate. Rise up with the urgency of now as a true Christ centered coalition calling on all abused Alabamians to vote against Roy Moore's unholy trinity of old South style racism, classim, and sexism. Vote against Roy Moore for he would further stain the United States Senate to be further controlled by White Male priviledge, selfishness, sin and Satan. Vote against Roy Moore who would make the rich richer and the poor poorer through President Donald Trump's phony tax reform bill. Vote against Roy Moore because he would cut healthcare, Medicaid, and Medicare for poor people of every race, age, and stage, in support of the Trump agenda. Rise up now all concerned and all abused Alabamians as a true Christ centered coalition that truly cares, shares, and bears the burdens of the broken, battered, and bruised child molestation victims. VOTE AGAINST ROY MOORE FOR U.S. SENATE!!! PLEASE SHARE!!! Pastor Arthur L. Mackey Jr. Senior Pastor Mount Sinai Baptist Church Cathedral 241 Rev. Dr. A. L. Mackey Sr. Avenue Roosevelt, N.Y., 11575 516 939 5679 ---------------------------------------------------- I would strongly suggest to Pope Francis to carefully read Matthew 4:1 for consideration before changing the specific language of the Lord's Prayer which states "lead us not into temptation" in the classic Matthew 6:13 scriptural passage. Matthew 4:1 clearly states that, "Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil." The moral point was, yes, Jesus was led by the Spirit to be tempted by the devil during a forty day fast in the wilderness, and Jesus overcame the three temptations of the devil by speaking the scripture. The eternal truth is that just like Jesus we will all have to face the three worldly temptations of sin which are 1.) the lust of the flesh, 2.) the lust of the eyes, and 3.) the pride of life according to 1 John 2:16. And we can only overcome the three worldly temptations of sin by speaking the scriptures out loud in direct resistance to the very specific jagged edged temptations of real hardcore life. So yes I deeply do believe that we should continue to pray the very specific phrasology of the Matthew 6:13 scriptural passage which clearly states, "And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen." We pray "lead is not into temptation", because God has done so, and God can do so, especially in hard times to teach hurting humanity how have the backbone to resist real life temptations by speaking the scripture just like our Lord Jesus Christ did. Yes we ask God to "deliver us from evil", but beloved there will certainly be times in all of our lives when God will lead us, yes, into temptation to face evil head on. If we tell the people otherwise we do them a great disservice. In closing always remember the words of 1 Corinthians 10:13 which states that, "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it." Pastor Arthur L. Mackey Jr. Senior Pastor Mount Sinai Baptist Church Cathedral 241 Rev. Dr. A. L. Mackey Sr. Avenue Roosevelt, N.Y., 11575 516 939 5679 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Black Lives Matter!!! I praise God that the Ex South Carolina police officer, Michael Slager, who shot Walter Scott to death, was sentenced to twenty years in federal prison by U.S. District Court Judge David Norton in Charleston, South Carolina. The many prayers, the many Black Lives Matter protests, and the long legal petitionings of the court in Charleston, South Carolina, was not in vain. Thank God for justice finally, instead of the normal racist "just us" response. Pastor Arthur L. Mackey Jr. Senior Pastor Mount Sinai Baptist Church Cathedral 241 Rev. Dr. A. L. Mackey Sr. Avenue Roosevelt, N.Y., 11575 516 939 5679 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jerusalem has always been, and Jerusalem will always be the eternal capital of Isreal both biblically and historically. President Donald Trump's unwise and untimely announcement of an already clearly established fact stratigically uitlized to further declare and decree that the U.S. Embassy wiill be moved from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem added a highly insensative insult to injury in an already highly heated situation in the Middle East. The Middle East which so desparately needs the true balm of peaceful healing. Instead of literally sparking an extremely explosive political fury of fire between the historically deep tensions of the Palestinians and Jews that has led to tremendous protests. President Trump instead of pushing for the reconciliation of your phony tax reform bill that makes rich American corporations richer, and poor/middle class American people even poorer. Push for peaceful reconciliation talks between the Jews and Palestinians. Sit down especially with the longtime native Jews and native Palestinians who never left their homeland. Who never left their rich history, and their rich heritage literally traces back to Father Abraham, King David, and Jesus Christ. These longtime native Jews and native Palestinians, who never left their homeland, don't want any political games. They only want true peace in the Middle East, because through Father Abraham they are all literally related. Ultimately leading to the rise of the Jews, Chistrians, and Muslims overtime in world history. Let us all pray for the peace of Jerulsalem. Pastor Arthur L. Mackey Jr. Senior Pastor Mount Sinai Baptist Church Cathedral 241 Rev. Dr. A. L. Mackey Sr. Avenue Roosevelt, N.Y., 11575 516 939 5679 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- America STOP phony Trump Tax Reform Bill in the Reconciliation Process. Contact and tell REPUBLICAN Congress & Senate Reps from all over the nation to VOTE NO on Tax Reform Reconciliation Process Final Bill via facebook, email, and congress.gov. THIS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS BILL MAKES THE RICH RICHER AND THE POOR POORER AND ADDS 1 TRILLION DOLLARS TO THE DEFICIT. Pastor Arthur L. Mackey Jr. Senior Pastor Mount Sinai Baptist Church Cathedral 241 Rev. Dr. A. L. Mackey Sr. Avenue Roosevelt, N.Y., 11575 516 939 5679 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I call on Congress to reinstate the DACA program along with a clear pathway to citizenship in less than the senseless six month March 2018 deadline established by President Donald Trump. America is multi-ethnic and multicultural, and we must strongly rebuke the actions of Trump, who sadly promotes the division, disruption and destruction of the American dream. Pastor Arthur L. Mackey Jr. Senior Pastor Mount Sinai Baptist Church Cathedral 241 Rev. Dr. A. L. Mackey Sr. Avenue Roosevelt, N.Y., 11575 516 939 5679 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- STOP THE SLAVE TRADE IN LIBYA!!!: The horrific practice of modern day slavery and human trafficking is an extremely wicked and evil example of man's inhumanity to man. That absolutely violates all human rights standards, laws and policies worldwide. Governmental leaders worldwide must have the rock solid backbone to stop modern day slavery and human trafficking anywhere it raises its demoralizing, demeaning, and destructive ugly head.
