We’re honored to have motorcycle builder/rockstar, Xavier Muriel at our inaugural Derwood Invitational Builder Show this year.

Discovering his passion for motorcycles at the age of six after his father gave him his first 1974 Honda “Mr. 50,” Xavier has always had motorcycling in his blood. As years progressed, Xavier’s love for music also grew. By the age of 22, he was a professional touring musician, playing drums with major music acts. As it often goes, Xavier found himself being pulled back to his life on two wheels and in between world tours, he built one of his first custom motorcycles. Like most things in his life, it was all or nothing and Xavier rediscovered that same feeling that he experienced when he received that old “Mr. 50.”

Xavier has built some amazing machines and has shown us how much music and motorcycles are intertwined into his life. Approaching his builds in the same manner as his drumming, with a “less is more” attitude, he believes clean and simple lines enhance the overall feel and look of a bike. “After all, they are all made to be ridden.”

We can’t wait to see what Xavier is bringing to the rally this year. Head over to our link in bio or to republicoftexasmotorcyclerally.com/derwood-invitational-builder-show/ to check out the rest of the builders.

Great Britain native, Chris "The Limey" Kelland's passion for motorcycles began over thirty years ago. After successfully opening his first shop, Chris decided to trade in the rain and gloom for the warm Texas Sun.

Hopping over the pond in the early 2000's, Chris opened Limey Bikes, specializing in vintage Japanese and British motorcycles built before 1980. Focusing on light, clean, simple bikes that are dedicated to high performance, Chris has been able to breathe life into some amazing machines.

We're excited to welcome him to this year's inaugural Derwood Invitational Builder Show at the Republic of Texas Motorcycle Rally, and cant wait to see what special work he has in store.

Head over to republicoftexasmotorcyclerally.com/derwood-invitational-builder-show/ for more information on Chris Kelland and the other builders attending this year's event.

A pioneer for female motorcyclists throughout the world, Anke-Eve Goldmann was widely known as the leather-clad racer on a BMW R69. Achieving more than just an iconic look, Anke-Eve made strides in endurance and circuit competitions, was an internationally published journalist, taught German at a U.S. Air Force base in Germany, and co-founded the Women’s International Motorcycle Association in 1958.

Around the mid-70's, Anke-Eve gave up her BMW for a race-tuned MV Agusta 750 Sport. Unfortunately, she never got around to racing her machine as she gave up motorcycling and left the spotlight soon after.

Texas based builder, and owner of Southern Metal Choppers, Bronson Willard, has not only built show-stopping motorcycles, but has proven himself to be one of the premier custom motorcycle builders in the country. With features in publications such as Cycle Source and Hot Bike Magazine, he's paved his way towards creating award winning motorcycles that have been featured in several films, music videos, national commercials, and video games. And if you had a chance to be there in 2016, he built the custom motorcycle for our Military Bike Giveaway.

We're honored to showcase his work at the Inaugural Derwood Invitational Builder Show, during the 25th Anniversary - Republic of Texas Motorcycle Rally.

In honor of International Women’s Day, we’ve compiled a few slides that showcase women who have made enormous impacts in the motorcycling world.

Slides 1-2. The Debenham Sisters •
Twin sisters, Betty and Nancy Debenham were passionate motorcyclists that began riding in the 1920’s. Competing in and winning several trials events, they were often seen in promotions for BSA accompanied by their dog, Poncho. Their book, Motorcycling for Women, contained a mass of information for aspiring lady riders. They went on to continue to inspire and wrote articles in multiple motorcycling publications.

Slides 3-5. Bessie Stringfield•
Known for being the first Black woman to ride across the US, Bessie Stringfield began her motorcycling career at the age of 16 when she taught herself how to ride a 1928 Indian Scout. As a civilian courier for the US Army, she carried documents between army bases on her 61 cubic inch Harley and crossed the US eight times. Later on, Bessie founded the Iron Horse Motorcycle Club and was known as the “Motorcycle Queen of Miami.” In 2002 she was inducted into the Motorcycle Hall of Fame.

Slides 6-7. Vivian Bales•
After teaching herself how to ride a Model B single Harley-Davidson in Albany, NY 1926, Vivian Bales fell in love with motorcycling, traded in for a 45 Twin D, and set out for a 5,000 mile journey through the US. Along her ride, she stopped at Harley dealerships where they provided fuel and food. After her trek, she became the first motorcycle cover girl, was on the May and November 1929 editions of The Harley Davidson Enthusiast, and went on to live the rest of her life as a stunt rider.

Slides 8-10. Dot Robinson•
Known as the “First Lady of Motorcycling,” Dot Robinson found her passion for motorcycles in 1918 when she helped her Father around his motorcycle dealership. After purchasing the dealership in 1931, Dot moved to Detroit and through the 30’s to 50’s she competed in several races, particularly endurance. Throughout her life, she continued to win several awards, worked as a motorcycle courier during WWII, and co-created Motor Maids Inc; a motorcycle club aimed at uniting female motorcyclists that has grown to 1,300 riders.

Up next in our Derwood Builders Invitational Spotlight is Texas based builder, C**t Wrangler.

A master of his craft and a man with many passions, C**t is proof that you can accomplish greatness without spreading yourself too thin.

His work has been featured in several motorcycle publications including Iron and Air, Sideburn magazine and Ride Texas. C**t has also starred in the AMC television series, Ride With Norman Reedus.

When he's not building custom motorcycles, C**t can be found at the local bull riding competition or playing drums in his alt-country band, The Droptines.

Think you all need to check this band out JASMINE CAIN she is up coming fast has been playing alot of bike rallies all over . Her turn outs have packed the places they have been in . They have over 6 CDs out now .
How does one get ahold of someone in charge of RV Reservations? I have sent multiple emails with no response and the phone number listed is disconnected.
I planned on making 2020 the year I went to ROT but the price to go is ridiculous, all I've heard is the food is terrible, golf carts everywhere and the rally is not a biker rally but a rich-rider rally.

Hi All, it’s our first year going to ROT. We are looking where we want to set up our camp on site but we can not find or contact any one who can tell us what area the showers and washrooms are. Any details on that would be greatly appreciated! 🇨🇦🏍 ⛺️
