It was recently brought to our attention that a member of Eeyore's Birthday Party board shared intolerant and hateful messaging on social media. We have made the decision to remove this person from the board. Eeyore's Birthday Party is a space for fun and acceptance of everyone and we do not tolerate ideals that denigrate, incite violence or promote hate.
Since we can’t meet in person to celebrate Eeyore’s 57th Birthday Party we’ve posted a few photos of Eeyore’s past. To help keep the spirit alive today, share with us your favorite photos or memories of Eeyore’s!

Today marks a bittersweet moment in Eeyore’s history. After 56 continuous years of celebration we are unable to gather in person for the festivities. Instead, we ask that all the participants, volunteers, vendors and organizers gather together in the virtual world.
To help preserve the spirit and kindness of Eeyore we suggest making donations to the vendors that support this event, to the local non-profits that Eeyore’s would have donated to and finally to the Eeyore cause itself. You can find more information about donating here: http://eeyores.org/
It is with deep sadness that we must announce Eeyore’s 57th Birthday Party has been cancelled by the City of Austin. Eeyore is very disappointed (he says “ooooh bother”) but he wants to ensure that all attendees and volunteers are safe. Eeyore also wants to remind everyone that this event benefits local non-profits and in the wake of this cancellation these organizations will be impacted. Please support the community in anyway you can during this time and keep an eye out as we post ways that we can support the community together.

Eeyore needs your help! Please join Eeyore and his friends on Saturday, March 28th, at 11a to help make Pease District Park's Polecat Hollow a better place for all of Austin. We need to spread mulch around that area of the park - just like we've done in the past in the Kingsbury Commons area. Whether you can stay for an hour - or 3 - Eeyore wants you to know that everyone pitching in will make it faster and easier. Heck, he might even be a little less morose if you show up.
Polecat Hollow is the area of the park with the Volleyball Courts, east of the creek, near Lamar and MLK. We'll meet in the field surrounding the volleyball courts. Thanks! Hope to see you there! And wear your beloved commemorative Eeyore t-shirts.

Hello fans of Eeyore,
This year we are temporarily setting up in a new section of Pease District Park. As such, we will need to do some prep work including clearing of invasives (ragweed/Ligustrum...)
We could really use your help.
Please come out to Pease District Park this Saturday Feb. 22. We'll be meeting up near the volleyball courts on the Lamar side of Shoal Creek @ 11am.

If you've had too much fun at SXSW, Eeyore suggests a little healthy exercise by helping us spread mulch on Saturday, March 16 2019. The weather looks like it will be beautiful.
Meet up at the picnic tables at 10 AM (1100 Kingsbury) for a little guilt-free fun. We're finishing the job (mulch) that we began on March 2nd. We'll be there for about three hours.

You may have read about Pease Park Conservancy's plans for the park - we are totally onboard with that project that has been blessed with a generous donor. Eeyores has worked closely with this group for years.
What you have not heard about is Watershed Protection holding a public meeting to reveal its proposal for flood control on Shoal Creek on Tuesday, November 13th at 6:30 p.m.
It will be at 505 Barton Springs Road, Room 325.
Watershed’s proposed solution is a huge underground containment facility at Pease Park, specifically in the east side of the creek at Lamar & MLK. This will destroy the park as we know it and Pease Park Conservancy needs the help of all its Eeyore’s friends to kill this bad idea in its crib.
This multi-million dollar Soviet-style mega-project would render large parts of the park unusable for years during construction. It would only benefit greedy developers who want to build high rises along Lamar in current flood prone areas. There are other much less costly and eco-friendly solutions available to address any flooding concerns.
Please come out to this meeting and demonstrate your support for the park and your opposition to any underground storm water detention facility at Pease.
Pease needs its friends at this critical meeting! See you Tuesday evening!

Couple of friendly reminders
1. No parking available at the park
2. If you bring your dog (we don't recommend d/t heat) please bring water for them and they must remain on a leash. However there are dog water bowls throughout the park.
3. No coolers, glass, tents
4. Bring ID if you plan on buying beer.

Looks like we need a handful of people to set out traffic cones on Parkway and Kingsbury tonight @ 10pm, front entrance to Pease District Park.
A pickup truck or two would be nice, but what we really need is 5 or 10 ppl to set out the cones

Shouldn't take more than an hour if ppl show up to help.

-Don't even think of trying to park at or near the Park.
There will be NO parking available at the park. Please take the bus, ride a bike, or walk!
Parking is FREE at the state parking garage "E" and Garage "J" on Colorado and Lavaca Streets (see map). NOTE: DO NOT PARK IN ANY SURFACE LOTS. Shuttle stop at 16th and Colorado where our shuttle busses will pick you up and return you all day long beginning at 8:30 am!!! Handicapped parking is also available at the same location, we have special needs busses chartered in our fleet for our shuttle service.
The Capital Metro bus 338 (Lamar/45th route) runs on Lamar and stops at Martin Luther King. It runs until 11:00pm.
The Shoal Creek Hike and Bike Trail is a wonderful way to get to and from Pease District Park
NO bottles, cans, or coolers will be allowed in the park.
Please keep all dogs on leashes.
An ID will be required to purchase alcoholic beverages.
