One of our own, Ayan Basu wrote up a great article on his site Torque Affair on a pretty cool car and a pretty story. Rallye Republic has a strong team in Central Texas dedicated to create events that are 1) amazing experiences with your car and motorcycle and 2) give back. http://oppositelock.jalopnik.com/a-car-that-seinfeld-wanted-brought-a-father-and-son-tog-1640056785/+Kyosuke
Seinfeld's producers actually called Ryan to feature his 1969 AMC AMX on Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. Much to Ryan's disappointment, for one reason or another, logistical problems, etc., they ended up getting a hold of a different AMC in the episode with Jon Stewart.

In the spirit of the Scottish referendum: Part Five
Since yesterday we've been bringing you some interesting tidbits of information on Scottish car culture/history in the spirit of the Scottish independence referendum. Millions of people are heading to the polls and voting on whether the country should stay in the UK or become an independent nation. It will be an historic event either way.
For part five of our series, we're highlighting the 1952 JP Iota.

William Wallace's Car - The Horse
The original Horse prototype is estimated to have been produced some 45 to 55 million years ago, however, it took quite some time before its widespread acceptance. The first production model was introduced to the general population much later, around 4000 BC, in what is now the Ukraine and/or Kazakhstan. The vehicle enjoyed widespread use for around 6,000 years with many different variants made across the globe with special features targeted to specific markets. The Horse went into decline with the advent of the Ford Model T, and the last mass-market production facility is expected to close shop sometime in the Fall of 2015.
The picture below is a model representation of what many historians believe to be the limited edition 1295 model year Horse belonging to the legendary Scotsman William Wallace.
We here at Rallye Republic are really curious as to what rallyes looked like back in those days. If you're a historian specializing in 13th century car sports or just an automotive junkie and you think you know, we'd love to get your feedback.
