This page highlights events, exhibits, genealogy programs, and activities of the Belton Area Museum Association and encourages discussion about historical topics of interest to our community. Check out what's new at the historic Belton Train Depot!
We are a non-profit umbrella organization comprised of three museums located in the Historic Belton Train Depot. The Ruth Drake Museum houses our permanent collection of local artifacts and the Genealogy and Reference Room. The South Carolina Tennis Hall of Fame is home to the portraits of all inductees chosen by the South Carolina Tennis Association, and of related tennis mementoes. The North End Gallery contains our temporary exhibits, which change periodically and consist of items loaned by the community. The museum office and the gift shop are also located in the Gallery. We also rent the Depot’s center section for private parties and events. The Center Section Performance Hall in the historic Belton Train Depot is available for rental 7 days a week. Weekend rentals (Fridays and Saturdays) are full day, requiring a $200 deposit and $400 payment. The rental fee includes tables and chairs to seat 120 comfortably, or 200 limited by fire code if cocktail style event. Tablecloths can be rented for $5 each. If everything is left in good order, then the $200 deposit is returned. Quite a good deal compared to other venues across Anderson County. During the week, rentals can be made for an hourly rate. Please contact the museum at 338-7400 during the above mentioned hours to check to see if the date you are wanting is available.
