We are honored to have been nominated for a Rocky Mountain Emmy Award for our original television special "Thrive125: A Utah Celebration.” The program was created and produced for the State of Utah to financially and emotionally stimulate the local arts economy during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Commemorating Utah’s 125th Anniversary, the program celebrates Utah’s artistic heritage, cultural diversity and scenic wonders—and was created at lightning speed in 5 weeks from start to finish.

Baruch-Gayton Entertainment Group was proud to produce a one hour TV special, “The Best of Stadium of Fire, Presented by America's Freedom Festival” televised on July 4th to more than one million military men and women worldwide via the American Forces Network.

Here's how the American Forces Network reacted:

"Great concert highlights, impressive flyovers. The million firecrackers was amazing. The troop scenes including the active duty member reuniting with his family at a concert was touching. So many other enjoyable moments. Thank you for all of your hard work... We appreciate your continued support.”

07/06/2020

For those of you who tuned into “The Best of Stadium of Fire” one-hour TV special on KSL-TV Salt Lake City this past Saturday night, THANKS!

The program came in first in the ratings in its time period, more than doubling the ratings of the second most-watched program that night on CBS.

And thanks especially to KSL-TV for their promotional support.

Baruch/Gayton looks forward to producing Stadium of Fire’s 40th Anniversary show live in 2021—bigger and better than ever.

Baruch-Gayton Entertainment Group is proud to be producing a one hour TV special, “The Best of Stadium of Fire, Presented By America's Freedom Festival at Provo” which will be televised on Saturday, July 4th at 8:00 p.m. Pacific Time to more than one million military men and women in more than 100 countries via the American Forces Television Network. The show will also air on KSL-TV5 (NBC Salt Lake City). The special will include past highlights from the annual Independence Day spectacle, “Stadium of Fire.”

Stadium of Fire has been one of America’s biggest July 4th celebrations for decades. It takes place every year in Provo, Utah in front of a live audience of 45,000 to 50,000. It is a terrific combination of tributes to our troops, patriotic celebration, top-tier musical talent and the biggest stadium fireworks show in America. The 40th anniversary show was set to take place this year live at BYU’s LaVell Edwards Stadium, but it was cancelled because of COVID-19.

Co-hosted by Marie Osmond and Lou Diamond Phillips, the “Best Of…” highlight special will combine performances from past headliners including Carrie Underwood, OneRepublic, Brian Regan, and The Beach Boys, plus moving patriotic tributes, incredible stunts, and of course, fireworks!

“We have created and produced this important July 4 celebration for the past 15 years, and look forward to the return of Stadium of Fire – bigger and better – in 2021,” said Wayne Baruch and Chuck Gayton in a statement.

Have a peaceful, healthy and observant Memorial Day. Here’s to our heroes and heroines.

Another Fred Willard story: We invited Fred to take the audience behind the scenes at the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame Opening Night Concert a few years ago, to see how the fireworks operated. The late great pyrotechnician Gene Evans patiently explained the system, punctuated as usual by Fred's wacky commentary. At the end of the brief bit, Fred asked "What is this button for?" Gene said "Don't touch that button!" Fred pressed it anyway. A chaotic few seconds of fireworks exploded from atop the Bowl shell. Almost instantly, Fred walked out onstage, with his hair messed up and smoke coming off his shoulders, and laconically commented: "We're going to need some water back there."

05/18/2020

Reminiscing about the many times we worked with Fred Willard. He was always a joy. For example we invited him to make a special appearance with the Philadelphia Orchestra at the Academy of Music. In White tie and tails, heconducted the Orchestra in the first eight notes of Beethoven’s fifth Symphony and then turned to the audience and announced: “that’s all I know!“ Other examples to come. RIP dear Fred.

Until very recently, America's Freedom Festival at Provo and we had hoped Stadium of Fire would be able to take place on July 4th. Unfortunately, the special 40th Anniversary celebration we have been planning will have to be postponed until 2021. This July 4th would have marked our 16th consecutive presentation of this Independence Day stadium presentation and live worldwide telecast. During the next few weeks, we will be sharing some production highlights from the past 15 years of creating and producing the largest stadium fireworks show in America, #StadiumofFire. We look forward to returning to Provo in 2021!

All of us who have worked on Stadium of Fire lost a dear and valued friend and colleague on Friday - Pyro designer Brad Bone. It was our pleasure to work with him for all 14 years we have been producing this show. Brad passed after a long illness, but true to his nature, he continued to work and plan up to the very end. None of us will ever forget Brad's enthusiasm, optimism and creativity that contributed to making "The Biggest Stadium Fireworks Show in America" so consistently entertaining. We send deepest sympathy to his daughter Victoria, and to everyone who knew and loved him. If any of you have anecdotes about Brad, please share.

Did you know that independent Czechoslovakia was actually founded in the United States, at Philadelphia's Independence Hall? On Sunday October 28, Maestro Carl St. Clair and the Pacific Symphony will celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the occasion with a special performance of Antonin Dvořák's New World Symphony, at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa. We're proud to team up with Pangea World (www.PangeaWorld.com) to create and produce a unique 3D mapped video for the concert, linking the past, present and future of ecology, economics, science and the arts, from the Czech lands to the Pacific. Special thanks to Dr. Hana Ayala, Chief Executive Officer of Pangea World, which is sponsoring the special event. More to come!

GLEN CAMPBELL: CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

The world lost a giant talent last week.

We remember when Glen Campbell (Official) performed and inducted his close friend Garth Brooks into the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame at the very first opening night concert we created and produced for the LA Phil - back in 2000. As charming as he was virtuosic, he was a super singer, songwriter and musician. Years after, we still remember how touched Garth was to be honored by Glen.

As he introduced Garth at the Bowl, Glen said he wouldn't take the time to list Garth's accomplishments. Instead he told the Bowl audience to visit the website "GarthBrooksLeavesEverybodyInTheDust.com".

The same could be said of Glen himself. For a reminder of his incredible range and influence, please have a look at this:
