Congratulations. Our awards broadcast actually had a glitch and skipped a sentence, so here's a correction to the transcript: "In addition to telling its whimsical boy meets girl love story, this film contains extraordinary production design . . ."

Wir haben beim Cambria Film Festival den Sonderpreis erhalten! 🥳🤩🍾

Begründung: "In addition to the four Judges‘ Awards the directors of the festival will from time to time choose to present a special award for one outstanding film.
This year a short film just leaped out of the pack. In addition to telling its whimsical boy meets girl love story, this film contains extraordinary production design with an eyebending use of colour in its set design and costumes; a camera movement in and out of a very uniquely created environment - and on top of all this, it is narrated by a particular clever chicken. I’m happy to announce that the Director’s Award for Artistic Achievement goes to „The Jackpot“ directed by Alice von Gwinner." – Robert Tieman

Looking forward to watching films

What a wonderful festival! I really enjoyed learning more about it by listening to your feature on the Stuff We've Seen podcast! I think its so interesting that the festival focuses on romance movies, as I feel that more and more the medium of film is highlighting romance in so many different forms and situations. I recently saw an indie film called Empathy Inc. that showcased how a husband and wife weathered a storm of the evils of virtual reality technology and how it tests human connection in the modern age. This, along with the film's thrilling science fiction narrative, had me invested through every twist and turn! I'd definitely recommend! You can stream the film on VOD if you're interested!
Twin Coyotes Winery is anxious to see some of these great films brought to Cambria!
Among my favorite Romantic movies is Chocolat. For many reasons, but this quote is what makes it such a delight for me. "Père Henri: I'm not sure what the theme of my homily today ought to be. Do I want to speak of the miracle of Our Lord's divine transformation? Not really, no. I don't want to talk about His divinity. I'd rather talk about His humanity. I mean, you know, how He lived His life, here on Earth. His *kindness*, His *tolerance*... Listen, here's what I think. I think that we can't go around... measuring our goodness by what we don't do. By what we deny ourselves, what we resist, and who we exclude. I think... we've got to measure goodness by what we *embrace*, what we create... and who we include."
Here's my favorite romantic comedy: What's Up Doc? I think all the actors are hilarious, especially Madeline Kahn.
