A Race arrives in Chatham

Around 1995, a local group of Chatham runners decided to host their own road race after attending a Lynchburg, Virginia, running event. Their enthusiasm started the Chatham 5K Race. The charity race has always supported those who support others. The Chatham Fire Department, the Chatham Rescue Squad, and other local Chatham and Pittsylvania County charities have benefited regularly from the fundraising from this annual event.

The TAC certified (VA98028RT) race course is a moderately challenging course featuring hills, straight-a-ways, and a route that tours key parts of Chatham. The race is supported by local business and citizens, who have contributed greatly to the ongoing success of this annual event.
