Morris Pig Cooking, Oyster Eating, & Local Music Venue

Morris Pig Cooking, Oyster Eating, & Local Music Venue A good place for Fun, Food, Drink and Music Not really a business but a good place to have some Fun, Food and Music. Janie and & love to cook inside and out.

There is always plenty to eat weather it be smoked butts, ribs, chicken, steak, low country boil or even whole hog. We love to have big gatherings and you never know when some of our local musician friends might show up to play and sing. And now that the city of Cornelia has built a new parking lot for the Community House, we have room for 120 cars (as long as something is not going on at the Community House....LOL)

This is the Chas McConnell Adjustable Dental Chair. Dr. McConnell was a Cornelia Dentist that built the house that we own now. It was patented on May 8, 1900 and they were built in Demorest. He sold a lot of these chairs to the US Military during WWI because they would fold up and were easly taken into the field and used for the dental care of the soldiers. As you can see, the height and reclining features were controlled by ropes and pullies. Dr. McConnell built the house on the corner of Jones and Wyley Streets in 1907.

The McConnell/Brock/Morris house was built in 1907. Chas McConnell, a local dentist built the house. Dr. McConnell was the inventor of one of the first adjustable dental chairs. The US Military purchased a lot of them because they folded up and were easy to take to the battle fields in WWI. Dr. McConnell died from pneumonia he contracted from laying on the ground while working on his car in the back yard.
Tom & Montreat Brock bought the house in the 30's (I think). Tom Brock was the Habersham County Tax Commissioner and Collector until his death in 1955.
I have owned the house since 1980 after Mrs. Brock died in a local nursing home. We have made a few changes but it is pretty much the same house.
