The weather has been pretty interesting the last few months to say the least. We are back on the air as of about 9:30 this morning, however, because of the weather, our FM signal isn't performing to the best of its abilities. We still sound great on our website, www.whfr.fm so join us starting at 1 PM when we have the latest WHFR Journal, followed by Highway 61 at 2PM.

With many new shows returning to the airwaves, check out our interactive WHFR programming grid to find your favorite WHFR shows, complete with details about each format and program host, here: WHFR Grid Schedule

My intention on the Acoustic Alternatives radio show today was to feature one track from every May Erlewine album in advance of her show to benefit The Ark - Ann Arbor this coming weekend. However, the power was out at the college. Instead, I assembled this list of essential tracks from May.
Enjoy and if you do, visit The Ark's website and get information about Sunday's show.- John Bommarito

As of about 1:30 this afternoon, there was a power outage on the campus of Henry Ford College that took both our stream and on air signal off the air.

We hope this problem is solved soon and we can get back to providing you the great programing you rely on us for.

The Ark | Where Music Lives

The Ark - Ann Arbor is one of the finest listening rooms in the country - and a lot of touring musicians will tell you that. This non-profit venue provides a home for many up and coming and established performers from seemingly almost every genre of music.
This coming weekend, they are hosting their Fall Fundraiser concert. One of the gems of the Michigan music scene, May Erlewine, will be playing this event with her band The Motivations.
If you are not yet familiar with the talent that is May, join John Bommarito this Thursday at 10 AM for Acoustic Alternatives. John will be playing one song from every May Erlewine release during his show.
Stream it from our website or tune in on the FM dial if you are near Dearborn at 89.3 FM. More information about The Ark is below.

Based on current CDC & MIOSHA guidance regarding COVID-19, proof of full vaccination and masking are required for all participants at Ark events. Please visit our COVID FAQ page for current policies and information.

We Are Not Alone

Monday, September 6, 2021. 2 – 3 PM EST.

Quartermaster Joseph Foster was on deck of a Coast Guard cutter in 1968 when he saw three objects careening at 3500 miles per hour over his Coast Guard cutter, the Mellon. Just ten minutes later, he learned of the sinking of a Soviet submarine, carrying three armed nuclear ballistic missiles and torpedoes, lost with all hands. Actually, he witnessed at least 4 major UAP events, beginning as early as childhood. Join our discussion on Monday, Sept. 6 at 2PM. EST. Archived at: http://www.ufoimplications.com/

WHFR Journal - Friday, Dec. 18, 12:50pm

This month marks the 35th anniversary of WHFR's first on-air broadcast, and we’re celebrating this "birthday" during the December 18 edition of the WHFR Journal (with a special start time of 12:50pm), featuring a very special guest: former Station Advisor and founder of WHFR, Jay Korinek. Jay will share details about the station's history and well as some interesting anecdotes about WHFR over the years. He was present for most of the 35 years, and we’re very excited to have him back on the airwaves on the show he created, the WHFR Journal. In the same hour, we’ll also be welcoming esteemed Henry Ford College President Russ Kavalhuna to talk about the HFC year in review and thoughts on what we can look forward to in 2021.

These are the best of the best of WHFR and Henry Ford College, just for you on the WHFR Journal beginning at 12:50pm on Friday, December 18, 2020. Please join us!
