Summerfest is Fairview Park’s annual weekend festival for the community, put on by community volunteers, which provides a gathering place to enjoy good food, live music, a parade, fireworks, carnival rides, and more. First held in 1992, this fun-filled, family-oriented event is designed to encourage collaboration and companionship among the residents, businesses, and civic organizations that comprise Fairview Park.

To our Fairview Park families and friends,

With heavy hearts, the Board of Directors of the Fairview Park Municipal Foundation have voted to cancel Summerfest this year. While this decision will sadden and perhaps frustrate many in our community, please know this choice was not easily made.

After reviewing the current CDC guidelines and state rules addressing the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as speaking with local public safety officials, we found no practical way to maintain social distancing and enforce health and safety guidelines given the nature of the festival. Furthermore, it is likely that most, if not all, of the state rules governing social distancing, sanitation, and event size limits will continue throughout the summer.

Additional factors driving our decision include the reduction in city service staff, a department we rely on immensely during Summerfest weekend, and low interest from local vendors and civic organizations.

As always, we appreciate your support for Fairview Park Summerfest and look forward to returning in 2021.

Kudos to the Fairview Park Green Team for spearheading the collection of aluminum cans yesterday for The MetroHealth System Burn Unit.

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Food Truck Festival and was able to figure out our recycling cans that kind of all looked the same, LOL! VERY FEW landfill items mixed into the recyclables. And ALL those aluminum cans you used are now helping burned children 🥰

Random question. At summerfest this year there was a truck manned by chilly Willy serving Italian water ice. Does anyone have any information on this vendor and/or where he can be found? His water ice was amazing!
