Last week we had the honor of presenting $7,150 to Senator Elizabeth Dole and staff at The Elizabeth Dole Foundation, thanks to our Alumni Dancer Barbara Hamilton! The Elizabeth Dole Foundation’s mission is to strengthen and empower America’s military caregivers and their families by raising public awareness, driving research, championing policy, and leading collaborations that make a significant impact on their lives.

In 2019, we were proud to once again sponsor DCs Dancing Stars Gala, which has surpassed the milestone of donating more than $1,780,000 to charities!

The Gala's co-founders, Maria Coakley David and Jim David, have donated $330,000 of that amount to Marymount over the last six years. Looking forward to this year’s Gala!

What an fabulous evening we had celebrating the 2019 Gala and presenting the record breaking $470,000 to our amazing charities! We are amazed that in just 6 years we have donated a total of $1,780,000 for charity! Yesterday, we received a $132,000 donation that truly will move the needle for the Raymond A. Wood Foundation. A huge thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the hard work and dedication of the DCs Dancing Stars Gala chairs Maria Coakley David and Jim David, the staff who makes this event possible, Ashley Lambdin and Elaine Doody, our amazing dancers Lindsey Awbrey Keatley and Cecily Ann Fernandez and all the dancers that worked so hard to raise an astounding amount of money, the dedication of our board member, Caroline Nussear Coakley, and support from the donors including our local silent auction contributors.

We grateful beyond words for this opportunity to expand and move forward. This is truly a pivotal moment for Raymond A. Wood Foundation. We can not say thank you enough to the DC Dancing Stars Gala for making a difference in the lives of our kids and Investing in our mission. There are no words that truly describe the depth of our gratitude but you will see in in our actions as we take this mission to the next level.

Last night, our executive director Jen Myers and board member Colleen Borelli accepted another generous donation from the DCs Dancing Stars Gala — bringing the total raised from this event over four years to nearly $300,000! These funds support our work to help moms and babies in need receive high-quality maternal and infant care. We are so grateful! Special shout-outs to Julie Culley and Prerana Dalal who danced in the 2019 gala to raise these funds for JB-LF!

Congratulations to the DC’s Dancing Stars Gala as it sets another one-year record netting more than $450,000 for local charities at the star-studded event bringing the six-year total of gifts to over $1,750,000!

Congratulations to Mike Manatos as he took home the Mirror Ball Trophy and $10,000 for his Charity Make-A-Wish Foundation, raising more than $70,000 in cash and sponsorships!
Breaking Records is Lindsey Keatley set a new record for a single dancer raising over $121,000 and The “Voice of the Washington Redskins” Larry Michael served on the judge’s panel for the first time.

Congratulations to our First Place Winners from the 6th Annual DC’s Dancing Stars Gala! We are so proud of Celebrity Dancer Mike Manatos who won the Mirror Ball Trophy and $10,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of The Mid-Atlantic. Lindsey Awbrey Keatley who won the Corporate Challenge and $10,000 for the Raymond A. Wood Foundation gave a stunning performance and set a new record for fundraising at the Gala with donations and sponsorships totaling over $121,000! We are delighted to announce our second Celebrity Judge: Larry Michael! He is the Voice of the Washington Redskins and the TV host for the Redskins Broadcast Network, as well as a 12-time Emmy Award winner for his work with the Redskins Broadcast Network. His current on-air work also includes his role as the Host of Redskins Nation on NBC Sports Washington. Larry is accustomed to commenting on moves on the football field. Let’s see how he manages when it comes to moves on the dance floor on 11/09/2019 at the Four Seasons, Georgetown.
