We had an amazing 3 days of the All-Iowa Concert Band Festival. A huge thank you to our three host sites, our amazing clinicians, our supportive sponsors, and of course the 55 different bands who gave performances. Together we are impacting music education in Iowa!!!! We hope everyone involved had a great experience and will spread the word to their colleagues. Here are some pictures from day 1 in Johnston. We will see you in 2021!!!

North Scott HS Band

Proud of our students' performances at the All-Iowa Concert Band Festival yesterday morning at Central DeWitt HS! The Concert Band had a clinic with Dr. Shelley Jagow from Wright State University, and the Symphonic Band got to work with Dr. Andrew Mast from the Lawrence Conservatory.

If you are a band director in Iowa, this is a HIGHLY recommended event. The bands receive written and recorded feedback from a panel of 3 clinicians. After their performance, the band then works one-on-one with one of the clinicians who heard their performance. In addition, the conductor receives video feedback from a separate, dedicated conductor clinician, and the bands are all scheduled to listen to other bands throughout the day. No ratings, no rankings. Just a lot of excellent learning opportunities from some first rate teachers and conductors.

Many thanks to Josh Greubel and his team of students for organizing and hosting an outstanding event at the Central DeWitt HS site!

This is Dan's third year of being the Emcee for this event and he's awesome!
