St. Francis High School, La Canada, CA
Important information about Friday's CIF-SS D3 Championship from the St. Francis High School Athletic Department:
Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. we will be hosting the CIF-SS Division III Football Championship Game versus Rancho Verde High School. It is a wonderful and rare accomplishment for Coach Bonds, his staff, and our student-athletes.
There is a lot of excitement and anticipation surrounding this event. It is important to note that this is a CIF event, not a St. Francis event. CIF representatives will be present observing the game. There are logistical issues surrounding this event that are going to make this a huge challenge for St. Francis administration, staff, and volunteers. We need the help, cooperation, and understanding of our fans, supporters, and families to make this run smoothly.
We will not have access to the parking lots at St. Bede's, La Canada HS, or Flintridge Prep because they have events scheduled that evening. In addition, the outside basketball courts will be filled with Christmas trees, a major Booster Club fund-raiser that takes place on Saturday so parking is limited and a challenge. In addition, our visitors from Rancho Verde will be bringing 8 buses with them and Fox Sports will be there to televise our game nationally.
We are asking for your cooperation and understanding when it comes to seating. The St. Francis policy regarding the reserving of seats is not applicable for this CIF event. The CIF office has told us there is to be NO reserving of seats. CIF championship play calls for a first come first serve basis to allow equal and fair opportunities for spectators to see the game.
The following will apply for this championship game:
• Tickets are being pre sold at the front desk of the Administration Building and in the Athletic Office from 7:30 AM - 12:30 PM daily.
• Campus will be closed Friday to spectators looking to reserve seating.
• Ticket Gates will open at 5:00 PM.
• There is no reserving of seats as it is a first come, first serve basis.
• There is a no re-entry policy. Once you come in and hand your ticket to the ticket taker, you must remain on campus until you leave.
• At the conclusion of team mass on Friday around 2:30 PM, the stands will be swept. Any materials (blankets, paper, tape, stadium chairs, etc.) in the bleachers will be removed and placed against the 300 building where the Mother's Guild typically sells merchandise.
• Sideline access is limited to St. Francis football personnel, Athletic Training Staff, and St. Francis personnel.
Please understand we appreciate your support and excitement for our football coaches and players. We are not trying to make this event difficult. We are abiding by CIF policy and giving all fair and equal access to the seating we offer here at Friedman Field. If there are any questions or concerns, please contact our Athletic Director, Mr. Matt Luderer, in the Athletic Office. Thank you for your support and we look forward to seeing you at the game! GO KNIGHTS!
