Loudoun Chorale: Socially Distant Ode to Joy!

To our friends, singers, and supporters,

Covid 19 canceled the Loudoun Chorale's performances of the Beethoven Mass in C but the chorale decided to keep the music going through weekly virtual rehearsals! For this recording of Beethoven's "Ode to Joy," chorale members recorded their voices at home and then edited them together. This our thank you to our community who has and continues to support us in our community and music making.

Dear Supporters of the Loudoun Chorale,

We hope you are safe, healthy, and well during this unprecedented time in our lives.

Today we have the sad and difficult task of letting you know that given the still uncertain situation surrounding the spread of Covid19, we have decided to cancel our April performances of the Beethoven Mass in C. This decision was not made lightly, and while hard, it is necessary for the health of our singers and supporters.

We will continue virtual rehearsals every week until the end of our season! We’ve had YouTube Live rehearsals two Sundays now, and they are a refreshing two hours in a tough week! What we rehearse will vary each week but it will be fun.

We are already planning our 2020-2021 season, and we will announce details soon!

Dan Forrest who is the composer of "Good Night Dear Heart," which we sang this past fall, wrote on Facebook this week:

"Whenever choirs get back together again, the singing is going to be from a much deeper place than before. I can’t wait."

We can’t wait, and we will let you know as soon as it happens!

@mknchoir is making rehearsals happen on our You Tube channel! Some humor every week; this week was trivia prizes including a alto recorder and toilet paper! But serious work is still being done too, because we’re hoping to still be able to perform the Beethoven Messe in C for you all.❤️

*Virtual Rehearsal*
Due to concerns over the spread of Covid-19 the Loudoun Chorale has canceled our rehearsal this week but we will be attempting our first "Virtual Rehearsal," tomorrow night (Sunday 3/15) at 6 pm on YouTube Live. See link below. Nothing can replace an in-person rehearsal but the Chorale believes community should never stop even if we can't be together in person. Hope you join us for the grand experiment!
