And, we're off! Our first Demonstration Performance of 2017/2018 is underway. 1,300 students are engrossed in a performance by CONTRA-TIEMPO.
At DFS, we know the experience of a live performance is always an opportunity to make connections. That's one reason we do what we do.
Check out this incredible Washington Post article that explores how our brains and bodies respond to a dance performance.
"...we’re watching a story unfold that connects us with the performers, vicariously feeling and making meaning out of the actions on stage, responding to the magnetism of specific visual cues, experiencing heightened emotions"
When we experience art, we feel connected to something larger. Why? A new field of science has the answers to some of art’s enduring mysteries.
The DFS Demonstration Performance Calendar is up and ready to accept your RSVPs for our fall programs. Stay tuned to see what's coming in the Winter and Spring!
