We can't wait to share AteNine's exciting work with high school dance students tomorrow morning!

"We live in a very intense reality right now and I think it's really fine not to hide it. If we can deal with it through stage, onstage, offstage, there is a chance we can process it. Then, there's a chance we can change."

We caught up with Ate9 dANCEcOMPANY's Danielle Agami during rehearsals for "calling glenn" to talk about her collaboration with Glenn Kotche and her outlook on art.

This is your brain on art

At DFS, we know the experience of a live performance is always an opportunity to make connections. That's one reason we do what we do.
Check out this incredible Washington Post article that explores how our brains and bodies respond to a dance performance.
"...we’re watching a story unfold that connects us with the performers, vicariously feeling and making meaning out of the actions on stage, responding to the magnetism of specific visual cues, experiencing heightened emotions"

When we experience art, we feel connected to something larger. Why? A new field of science has the answers to some of art’s enduring mysteries.
