Cruisin' for Culture

Thanks for sharing Cruisin' for Culture! Come check out the mural exhibition if you haven’t already!

A new "drive-by gallery" is on display at 7th Street and Mateo Avenue in the Downtown Los Angeles Arts District. A collaboration between Art at the Rendon and SO|DA Architecture, the Mural Exhibition — at 2001 E. 7th — features 11 L.A.-based artists who have created works for display on what used to be a branch of the Farmers & Merchants bank. “State of the World” can be viewed on foot or from the comfort of your car, and it aims to raise awareness for social causes that are relevant to today’s environment. The building is scheduled for adaptive reuse as a restaurant, but will serve as an outdoor gallery through February and March 2021.

happy birthday dear cindy I trust you're doing just fine in LA ive decided to become an event producer in napa sonoma
I found out about this event through a friend & thought it would be worth checking out. I went last night, and now I'm writing this post to let you guys know that last night's performance basically restored some of my faith in humanity. I once heard a story about how there are really only a few common social narratives (in America at least). Most of them are fear and scarcity based. And they're often exploited for political purposes. These stories separate and disconnect people that don't look or sound the same. But there is a positive narrative that probably isn't talked about enough. It's sometimes referred to as "The Benevolent Community." It's a story about neighbors and friends who roll up their sleeves and pitch in for the common good. It's also about the dream of equality in all forms and has can serve as the fuel of many normalizing social forces, from racial to gender and age. For me, the experience of Rhythms of The City was restorative and uplifting. And I think I noticed this effect on many of the guests (fellow humans) that were also lucky enough to experience it. So.... a big giant, thank you and congratulations for doing something so special and great. I hope you're all incredibly proud of what you've created.
Pictures from opening night,
How can I submit my art work?
