We support local music, arts and the community we live in!! TBR is also a venue known to be FOR the traveling musician; we take care of Artists. Be part of the movement as a concert goer and/or volunteer. We make things happen with our own time as a team of passionate music lovers, students and industry professionals...together we're creating a space that is The Breathing Room. This is just a taste of what happened
Bring an acoustic guitar tonight to play in an Open mic session from 6-6:30 PM. First slot just opened up this morning...we've never done an open mic, let's do it at 6 PM. Who's in?
Early on in the development of TBR, our friend Jayme Palmer introduced us to Alex Hodges. Alex brought us an energy that propelled our momentum and validated this experiment we had engaged in to be a unique DIY all-ages venue in the San Fernando Valley. Alex soon saw that we needed consistent help documenting our activities, and introduced us to a young woman who would completely change the face of The Breathing Room. We are convinced that Tessie Navarro is the most talented live show photographer in Southern California. The value of Tessie's work with us is priceless! We are forever grateful for her generosity of talent, and more so for our true friendship that has come out of it.
Tonight we will be projecting a chronological slideshow or our 5 year journey. All of the incredible photos in the mix are from Tessie Navarro's camera. We believe this is not the last you will see from her. No doubt her name will soon be on the credits of music media all over this country!
Tessie Navarro is a photographer and multimedia journalist based in the San Fernando Valley. She recently graduated from Cal State University, Northridge with a B.A. in journalism with a photojournalism emphasis and an Asian American Studies minor.
