Mi Centro LGBTQ Community Center will also be open on Fridays from 1 pm to 5 pm as a census action kiosk. Folks are welcome to stop by, complete their census, and receive a Northgate Gonzalez Market gift card! We have safety measures in place to ensure your well-being. Mi Centro is located at 553 S. The current times have reminded us of the importance of staying informed, and connected with one another to be able to come together to help change the future. One way to do this, is by participating in the 2020 Census and informing others about it! This why we are here today, with a Census update that compares the previous 2010 Census Final Self-Response Reports(SRRs) to those of the current 2020 Census SRRs. After conducting some research this is what we gathered. In 2010, both the city of Los Angeles and state of California were below the final National Count in SRRs. This time around, in 2020, California has surpassed the National Count but yet, Los Angeles remains undercounted (BY A LOT). We cannot allow for history to repeat itself. We must change the narrative by spreading the word and urging everyone to get counted! Therefore, if you have not done it yet, FILL OUT YOUR CENSUS FORM ONLINE, NOW! Remember, I (Census) am accepting of everyone regardless of: age, race, sexual orientation, citizenship, disability, income, etc. The list goes on. Go to my2020census.gov to complete the Census! By participating in the Census, we are ensuring that our communities get the necessary funding, representation, and resources needed to achieve an equitable and healthy future for the next 10 years.
