Our sax player, Clarence Witherspoon asked to share his thoughts with our fans about the loss of our singer Cat Herzon.
It's so hard to know what to say when you lose someone you love. So hard to know what to feel or what to do. The sudden loss of someone that close seems so devastating it seems almost impossible to go on with my own life.
When you share the stage with your friend for so many years it is hard to believe the songs will ever sound the same again. It is hard to believe that the smiling faces looking up at us will ever smile again. It is hard to believe the music will carry us all away together one more time.
We all feel that way about Cat and we all know she felt that way about us while we spread our joy together. We will all miss that. It will always weigh heavy on our hearts as we live our lives with such a loss.
But we will live on. We must. Cat used to say "Sorry I can't make the gig" for one reason or another, out of town or had to work or be in class that day but she was always with us in spirit. That will never change, she's still the best singer in the band, just playing at a different venue now. Some day we'll be playing together again my friend. In tune and on time. Just like always.
