Hey Starlets we lost a sister yesterday. Toya Kali Fenroy she was a sweet wonderful person. C/O 95. Prayers to her family.
Wow!!! This is my Alma Mater, I was proud to be a Starlet, and even prouder to have been apart of the St. Michael's experience. When I became a freshman in September of 1979, I was nervous and didn't know really what to expect. I made the change from public school to an all girls catholic high school, and it was a huge adjustment for me. Although I had cousins that graduated from St. Michael's before me, I was still nervous and didn't know if I would fit in. What helped me make the adjustment was the fact that at St. Michael's when you were a freshman, you had a senior who was what we called then a Big Sister to help guide you through the process of adjusting to high school and in my case a catholic high school. The sister experience did not stop but continued when I was a sophomore. I then had a middle sister who was a junior, and you got it the next year I became a junior and I was a sophomore's middle sister, and when I became a senior in the fall of 1981-1982 school year I was a freshman's Big sister. So in addition to my educational experience and the many things I learned during those four years, the one thing that sticks out in my mind, and the one thing I will never forget that I absolutely learned at St. Michael's was true sisterhood. I graduated June 4, 1982 and I have carried that lesson of Sisterhood throughout my life. I remember graduation day, I had mixed emotions and I wondered of I would see my sisters again and I wondered what it would be like when I did. I've run into some and others I've called, and others I've become friends with on Facebook and other social media, and I still feel the same as felt when we were in high school on an adult level, we are still sisters today. So in memory of St. Michael's Starlets and the Chaunci Class of 1982, in the words of our Class song, "Sister Sledge, We Are Family, I Got All My Sisters and Me." Thank You for all the wonderful memories and Thank You for teaching me what true Sisterhood really feels like. When the Archdiocese closed the school in June of 1995, I was sad and I wondered if the lesson of sisterhood that I learned all those years go,would still be taught. I do miss my Alma Mater and all of my Starlet Sisters as well as my Sisters from the graduating Class of 1982. I salute my Alma Mater and each and every Starlet, and the Class of 1982, We will Forever and always be Family, and I Got All My Sisters and Me. Blessings to Each ad Everyone of you, Your Forever Sister, Miss Lecia Palmer, Class of 1982.
We wore brown and white saddle shoes. And they weren't Nike's. We were the first class in 1955 (Penguins) graduating in 1959. We weren't allowed on the second floor until we became seniors. It wasn't so cool then; but still remember my teachers and the great education.
Oh no! I see that my alma mater closed in 1995 and merged with Regina Caeli forming Queen of Angeles which ultimately closed in 2002. That just made me a little sad to learn. Well, I was the Class of 1984 - Sherry Theus. Should any of my former classmates stop by this page be sure to reach out to me. Wishing you all the best in 2019 (35 years later).

SMHS was the best! Learned a lot and had so much fun there. I graduated in 1967 and was sad to hear that it closed.
