Announcement for the Postponement of Piano Competition

Dear all,

Due to the board of piano competition is renewing our directors, we are having some turnover of personnel and adding new volunteer members. In this transitional period, in order to get the best result of preparation for the next competition, we have realized that we need more time to have our new team to adapt to the whole procedure of operation. Therefore, on the recent board meeting, we have decided to postpone our next competition (36th session of competition ) from Oct. 2019 to the year of 2020. The theme of the commemoration of Johann Sebastian Bach for the 36th Competition will remain, and all of the required compositions for all the groups will be kept the same. The original 2019 competition scheduled on Oct 5th, 2019 is cancelled. The detail information about the competition in 2020 will be announced once the date is selected.

Our apologies for any confusion and inconvenience caused by the change, especially to the potential contestants who have already started preparing for the competition!

We would like to thank all of participated contestants, parents, teachers, musicians and sponsors over the last 35 years! Thank you very much for your participation and great support! And we believe, with the cooperation of the new management team, that our next competition will be more exciting and successful!

All the best,

The Board of Los Angeles Young Pianist Competition
