Here we are on this Twilight Zone Cinco de Mayo episode that seems to be running way over! 🤣

Stay home if you can, cover your faces if you can’t, take care of yourselves and each other. We’ll be raising a glass to all of you later.

Dark times, friends. Stay home and stay strong out there.

L.A.'s beloved taco trucks are in survival mode

Dark times, friends. Stay home and stay strong out there.

Not even taco trucks, an emblematic feature of the L.A. culinary landscape, are being spared from the economic fallout of the global pandemic.

LA Food Fest™

Our events have kicked off countless of imitators but we’re still the first and the original! The LA Food Fest was born as the LA Street Food Fest downtown in February 2010 with a lofty goal not only to fill a gap in the event scene by creating an event that was the first of its kind, but to create community and a platform to support independent small businesses like ourselves and more than 25,000 Angelenos joined us!

Promotional events often require vendors to donate their food and services, something we knew could be challenging, especially for new and less established vendors, and for that reason, we were the first event to make the decision to support our vendors by subsidizing the participation of nearly every vendor at our LA Food Fest events. We put our money where our mouth is – to the tune of more than $100,000.00 per event! This was a concept unheard of in the culinary event world that’s since encouraged many other events to follow our lead and do the same.

For us, every event is an opportunity to do a little good and to help make this amazing city we call home a little better for it. In 2016, we decided to make our event LA’s first zero food waste event and we’ve gotten closer to our goal every year. This year (2018) we launched a summer Sunday Funday series from May–August in DTLA to give our attendees a free chance to check out some new talent at a themed, monthly, free event, and our loyal vendors an opportunity to sell their wares.

We hope that you will join us in enjoying fantastic food and a great time, knowing you’re also supporting our local community, restaurateurs, and LA’s economy!

Oh, and why the ™? Because believe it or not, we were the very first to use the term “Food Fest” back in 2009, so we trademarked it!

Save the Date – September, 2019 we’ll be celebrating 10 years with our 10th Annual event!

I think this is the best food review in the history of food reviews
We had a great time. This ending was epic, the weather was perfect.
This was round 1
Will you guys return next year? I heard rumors that this is the last year.
Anyone interested in a pair of VIP tickets for tomorrow? We can’t go 😞 Worth $99 each; best offer gets them.
We have an extra VIP ticket. DM me.
Is there seating in GA? On the FAQs page is says bring umbrellas, blankets etc. Is that actually true? Will we be allowed in with blankets, low back chairs etc? Is there an option to sitting on the ground?🤔
Such a great event. Thank you for giving us small portions, it helped us be able to try almost all the vendors without getting full so quickly. Also prevented many from being so wasteful. We went back to our favorites and hit those up for seconds. I loved that the booze vendors encouraged you to try them all. These were my favorite drinks tho. It was pretty hot but I'm sure you guys hadn't anticipated the weather being so hot when u first planned it. After all you don't control the weather. I would suggest adding more water stations throughout the whole set up but other then that I think it all went fairly well. We went home super stuffed and we definitely would be back again.
This was my first and the absolutely last time I will ever go to this poor excuse of a food festival. After paying $65 for a ticket online and $5 for parking, I still had to wait in line for 45 mins (on a paved blacktop, with no sun protection overhead in 95-degree clear sky heat) to get into the actual park. People were suffering from heatstroke and severe dehydration while waiting in line. Once you got in, you had to wait in more lines, which was to be expected, but what wasn't expected were the measly portion sizes. I seriously got one piece of shrimp at the Rockfish tent... Not to mention there was only one tent giving out water - on this 95-degree day on a paved surface with no overhead sun protection. And of course, security/medics were having to tend to people suffering from heat stroke and severe dehydration. And I'm not kidding, everyone who paid to get in there looked miserable. The portions were ridiculously small and the quality of food was horrible. They literally gave no thought to this food festival at all. What a waste. This food fair is an absolute waste of your money and your time. Go to the beach instead.
I have an extra vip ticket if one is interest. I’m currently inline.
Is anyone willing to do a carpool from the Cerritos, Norwalk, Long Beach area?
Hi! Where do we get the trays like the ones in the event picture?
