I am renting out our back private office, which has two worktables/chairs, is 170 square feet with 12 foot ceilings and three windows. AC, Wifi and utilities are included. I am the only other occupant. You pass my cubicle in the first room, then a mutual conference area, before stepping into the back office, which has a door that gives privacy from the rest of the office suite. Available May 1. Looking for creatives. Ideal tenant would be a video editor. But open to other creatives. I also have a film stage downstairs and an Audio Post Production, Mix Room next door with a recording booth. Returning to our usual venue and day of the week, [email protected] Space welcomes the new music record label Cold Blue Music to present an evening of music for harp, piano, and strings by composers Peter Garland, Michael Jon Fink, Michael Byron, and Jim Fox, performed by Aron Kallay, Derek Stein, members of the Lyris Quartet, Tasha Smith Godinez, and Michael Jon Fink. The concert will include World, U.S., and West Coast premieres.


About the Label:
Cold Blue Music was founded in the early 1980s and quickly became known for its focus on certain West-Coast strains of Minimalism and Post-Minimalism. Although it initially lasted for only a few years, in that short time it left its mark on the California new music scene. And when the company was revived in the early 2000s, its reputation continued to grow. Prioritizing quality over quantity, Cold Blue is dedicated to cultivating music that is deeply rooted in the West Coast’s heritage of musical experimentation.

15 Great Things to Do in Koreatown

When the Monks first settled in LA's Koreatown back in 1997 to work on the Frommer's Mad Monks' Guide to California - and soon after begin our two-year stint as the main content providers to Playboy.com - people wondered why the two of us (long considered, with all appropriate humility, among the more cutting edge travel writers in the world) would decide upon K-Town. Especially when there were so many other trendy, cool places to settle down (from Venice to Bushwick to NE Portland to the sketchier parts of SF, Oakland, Seattle, Philly, DC, London, Copenhagen and Berlin). We chose Koreatown because it had the hallmarks that made a place genuinely Monk: a lack of self-consciousness that it was anything special, authenticity, an unabashed funkiness, the right mix of disorder and decay, surprisingly historic yet with a low cost of living, a nice mix of upscale and downscale, and just that "what the heck is this?!!" vibe that made a place defiantly indefinable and worth exploring for years to come.
