Join us. The Dymally International Jazz Festival is BACK with a virtual concert THIS Friday as we celebrate "International Jazz Day," April 30th, 2021. The concert is FREE to the public. Grab your favorite wines and enjoy this evening, featuring South African Jazz Guitarist, Jonathan Butler, saxophonist, Michael Lington (featuring vocalist, Howard Hewitt) and the Darryl Williams Jazz Ensemble. The Dymally Institute at CSUDH is pleased to announce its second digital archive film, under its Historical Erasure Recovery Project, will premiere at the 2021 Pan African Film Festival on March 6th, at 7:00 p.m. with a panel discussion to follow. The film entitled, "Raymond Lewis: L.A. Legend, documents the life and tragic career of the GREATEST Basketball player to EVER come out of Los Angeles, Verbum Dei and Cal State, L.A. superstar phenom, Raymond Lewis, who was blackballed from playing in the NBA. The piece of Los Angeles cultural history comes 50 years after his rise to national prominence and 20 years after his death. Get you tickets today at www.PAFF.org. View the trailer at the link below.

SAVE THE DATE: February 17th, 2021 at 11:30 to 2:30 for the Dymally Institute's Black History Month Anti-Racism Virtual Workshop entitled, For White People Only (and other practitioners of unconscious bias): An AntiRacism workshop for Racial Reconciliation. It is a discussion with white people for white people to engage ALL OF US on how we move past this movement of white entitlement, white privilege and the practices of "weaponizing whiteness" that is driving the rise of white supremacy in this moment in history. Send this flyer to all your friends who claim they're a part of the equality movement and have them declare they are Anti-Racists, to join the conversation. All people of color are welcome to join. RSVP at the link on the flyer.
