The song carries her along and has done so since Anahita discovered the sound of the piano and then the strings of a guitar as a small child. The guitar moved her and impassioned by the sounds, the words and notes began to flow on paper and a singer/songwriter was born….
She studied classical guitar with renowned professors at Cal State Fullerton and was later chosen as a member of the prestigious Fullerton guitar orchestra. There she became a bona fide performer touring concert halls along the West Coast and across Europe.
Navigating across all genres and around the world, her music is infused with a variety of sounds which her voice caries with a breadth of range and chilling sentiment. She has experimented in different genres suchas alternative rock and world music, which has influenced her songwriting. Whether she is performing solo/acoustic or full-band, her performances are incredibly powerful, soulful & melodic. She just completed her second EP, entitled “Until the Morning”, which was produced by Greg Cortez at New Monkey Studio in Los Angeles.

Kevin Laurence’s music has developed from single notes on a piano to a unique and eclectic repertoire of original music. With influences such as Billy Joel, Elton John, The Beatles and countless others, Kevin has created a sound that took the 26 year old singer-songwriter years to develop. At the young age of five, the foundation of Kevin’s musical journey was laid when he would spend hours at the piano figuring out the tunes he would hear as his dad's vinyl collection would be playing out of the home office. Throughout elementary and middle school, Kevin consistently rebelled against piano teachers that wanted him to play the notes on the page as he was insistent on making up his own songs.
Tragically, Kevin’s number one fan, his father was killed in a car accident in 2001. He was left devastated and delved into writing songs that expressed the pain he felt from the loss of his father. This was a turning point in Kevin’s life that only stimulated his drive to fulfill his dream of becoming a songwriter and performer.
In the summer of 2006, Kevin recorded a five-track demo in a friend’s bedroom, which eventually led him to producer Keith Morrison in Miami, Florida. There, they embarked on creating “Green To Red EP", a collection of songs that would become his debut album. Nearly two years after the release of "Green To Red EP", Kevin completed production on his follow-up effort entitled "Island Of Forgotten Memories". The seven-track album was released in June 2009 on CDBaby, iTunes, and other online retailers. In January 2010, Kevin Laurence and his band made their live television debut on NBC 6’s South Florida Today Show. Kevin is currently in the process of writing and recording new music and can be seen performing live throughout venues in Los Angeles, California
Lilliana Villines was born and raised in Los Angeles, finding her fervor in music in middle school. She started out as a singer songwriter and began high school at Los Angeles County High School for the Arts intending to pursue a career as a folk singer songwriter, influenced heavily by 20th century beat poets and folk and blues artists. However, in her second year of high school, she started singing in her school's jazz ensemble and has since been strengthening her skills as a jazz vocalist. She has since been playing gigs with peers in the jazz department and is auditioning for conservatories like Berklee College of Music, New School and USC for jazz as well as songwriting. At Berklee College of Music this summer, Lilliana was one of the winners of the Berklee Five Week Singer Songwriter Competition and got the opportunity to study with renowned folk artists Melissa Ferrick and Sally Taylor. This year, she won an honorable mention award from YoungArts, made it into the semifinal round for Spotlight Auditions, and has received a partial scholarship to Berklee College of Music.

Songwriters Explosion Vol 3 at Nola's Aug 23rd 9:30pm ~~
The loquacious twenty-six year old chanteuse is one of a new breed of pop singer/songwriters responding to an uncertain world by looking inward. A perfectionist, Rosner exacts every ounce of truth and emotion from her life; mining the soil of her heart for anything of value and illuminating those gems into song.
”I’m drawn to unique music. Danni occupies a space that no one else inhabits, while still being pop in all the best ways.” – Danny Kalb, Producer/Engineer (Foster the People, Ben Harper, Beck, A Fine Frenzy, Rilo Kiley, Jack Johnson).
Danni Rosner doesn’t just reach out to listeners through her music, she builds relationships. Like your best friend musically baring her soul, Rosner writes about the ups and downs of being a twenty-something in a complicated world. There is an unfeigned sincerity in her approach that appeals to listeners of all ages, while musically she inhabits the pop triangle that exists between Missy Higgins, Tori Amos and Regina Spektor. Rosner writes about her own experiences growing up in language that is universal and appealing. She makes you want to know more, and she’s willing to share.
While Rosner laughingly acknowledges that she’s forgotten more music theory than she remembers, she was imbued with a deep love of music from an early age by her piano playing father. Rosner would make up melodies and lyrics to her dad’s playing, not knowing the songs were classics of the American Songbook or hits by artists such as The Doors, Chick Corea, The Allman Brothers or even The Beatles. These experiences taught Rosner to hear music without pre-conceptions, opening up a creative world that continues to serve her well. This intense musicality is apparent on each of Rosner’s releases, but fully bloomed on Rosner’s 2009 full length album, Piano Actress. Aside from showing Rosner’s depth as a songwriter, the album gave voice to the song “In The City”, featured on A&E’s “Teach” starring Tony Danza in October of 2010.
Cory Joseph Clark is part songwriter, part performer, part guitar player, part singer, part artist, part hired gun, part entrepreneur, and all dreamer.
Based out of Long Beach California, Clark has released two solo EPs, and two EPs with his band Sleepless Me.
Born and raised in Southern California, Clark’s optimism shines through even his darkest subject matter.
His song “Don’t Let Em Get To You” won him the Best Americana/Roots award at the 2011 Hollywood Music In Media Awards (HMMAs), where his song “Throwing Stones” was nominated for the same the previous year.
He was nominated two years in a row as “Best Male Performer” by SoCal Acoustic Music Competition, and his older band Sleepless Me won “Best Alternative Band” at the 2008 Orange County Music Awards.
Playing in bands and with indie and label solo artists his whole life as a guitar/vocal sideman, music has taken him on tours of the the US and abroad. But Clark is always focusing on his own music as the roots of his expression.
In 2011 after releasing his EP “Throwing Stones”, he started a local Long Beach weekly singer/songwriter showcase called THE HUM HOUSE. He performs a set each week, and books two other talented artists to play sets as well from all over Southern California. The Hum House just started releasing a podcast as well which can be found on iTunes which features interviews from the artist as well as some live recordings from each show.
Playing weekly at The Hum House has given Clark the personal goal of writing much more than ever before. Writing is so important to him, that in 2011 he has commited to writing one song per week, and usually trying it out at the show that week.
The idea is that at the end of the year Clark will have a total of 53+ songs to choose from to record his next album.
