It focus on avant-garde, art-house, independent and no/low budget filmmaking. Our program provides a venue for filmmakers to reinvent and explore new approaches, to foster new forms of media art and to build an audience for such work. It's chilling sitting down with "My Boyfriend the Boogeyman" director Nikhail Asnani for a Q+A to discuss how this hauntingly imaginative film came to be. A fascinating and scary romantic relationship with darkness, congratulations on winning Best Thriller Film!

This page is so lively and it's great to see the amount of love and support that's given to independent cinema. I love it when pages highlight artistic vision that may not be in line with the mainstream perception of cinema. If anyone's looking for more ways to support independent cinema through virtual festivals, I’ve found that Film Festival Flix has been really amazing. In fact, I learned about it through Moviemaker.com through their article on the best online festivals of 2020. The site offers so much variety and there's even a free trial! I think it's a great way to support independent artists and I'm always looking for different ways to do so. Good luck to everyone on their projects and stay safe and healthy!

Hey Filmmakers and Audience, I recently went to a prescreening for a great Independent Horror film called A Demon Within. Writer and director Ayush Banker and Justin LaReau explore new approaches of media art through their experimental video based mediums. I noticed a handful of unique action shots and appealing lighting techniques I haven’t seen before. This underground film about a small-town doctor who has to face his painful past in order to save the life of a possessed teenage girl is premiering this Friday (January 12th) at the Laemmle Music Hall in Beverly Hills.
