MARKETING and LEADERSHIP expert Alla Turovskaya served as our consultant for a film in which I was the Executive Producer. She empowered us with her expertise and doable suggestions!

I highly recommend this event!

---------------

With years of experience leading large multinational, geographically dispersed teams in global business, I know firsthand that teams led by professional managers make a good product. Teams fortunate enough to be driven by leaders create an outstanding product.

In terms of filmmaking, this means that pro-driven teams create decent films. Leader-driven teams create outstanding cinema.
In the masterclass, WE'LL DISCUSS REAL-LIFE CASES, TECHNIQUES, AND TIPS that may be insightful for you.

- Being a great communicator, clear and effective
- Creating collaboration, not competition
- Being able to look at things in new ways and solve problems by seeing things others don't
- Being inspirational
- Handling difficult people and conflicts
- A surprise topic for you

We’ll BREAK THE RULES and create INSIGHTS. We'll also look at how great directors worked with their teams to create masterpieces.

In this masterclass, you will discover that you intuitively use some of the outstanding leadership techniques already now.
Why bother then?

Because after the masterclass you will use leadership techniques consciously and pick up particular leadership tools for the particular challenging situations, being aware of your personal strengths and weaknesses as a leader. I promise you will reconsider what makes you a good leader - and start your path to become a great one.

The next time you face a challenge while making a film, you will deliberately USE THE LEADERSHIP TOOLS THAT ARE RIGHT FOR YOU.

------------

MORE ON FARREL:
Farrel Jane Levy ACE was trained as an artist at Cooper Union. She became NYPD Blue’s supervising editor and she helped create its distinctive editing style. Farrel was also given the opportunity to direct 3 episodes.

She then went on to edit “Criminal Minds” for several seasons. Pilots she edited include “Brooklyn South” and “Blind Justice” for Milch and for Bochco; “Melrose Place,” “The Defenders,” and “The Unit” with Academy award winning director, David Guggenheim, and writers Shawn Ryan and David Mamet; and “Person of Interest” written by Jonathan Nolan.

She worked on fan fave “Damages,” and edited all 5 seasons on another fan fave, “Nashville.”

From there worked on the Netflix show, “The Society.” Features she has edited include “Across the Tracks,” starring a young Brad Pitt, “Ernest Goes to Jail,” “Confessions of a Sexist Pig,” and “Primal Fear,” and “Evan’s Crime.”

Farrel taught editing at The American Film Institute for over 20 years. In addition, Farrel is a founder and the lead editor of Look What SHE Did!, an organization with the mission of inspiring women and girls to greatness by bringing to light stories of remarkable women who changed the world. Look What SHE Did! creates short films and events featuring female storytellers celebrating women who inspire them.

She is a member of the Motion Picture Editors Guild, where she is active on the Women’s Committee, the Director’s Guild and the American Cinema Editors. She is the mother of two daughters who never cease to make her proud.

ILAN BRIEL is excited to support Members, especially WRITERS, DIRECTORS and PRODUCERS seeking representation. He's got the relationships (and tons of experience) with the studios (Sony, Dreamworks, Universal, etc.) including top filmmakers like Todd Black and Brian Grazer. Whatever it takes to support his client.

FROM ILAN:
"Currently consulting writers as a former literary manager in Hollywood with over 20 years of experience. I've launched, developed and established successful screenwriters, showrunners and directors in motion picture and television industry including Oscar nominated writers.
I am also a TV & Feature Film producer with multiple at major networks and studios.

I have launched the careers of television creators/showrunners Jon Bokenkamp (The Blacklist), Scott Rosenbaum (The Shield, Queen of the South), Monica Owusu-Breen (Lost) Alison Schapker (Altered Carbon), Virgil Williams (Chicago P.D. and Oscar Nominated Screenwriter), Steve Conrad (Pursuit of Happiness, Wonder), Luke Greenfield (Director, Let's Be Cops), Conrad Vernon (Producer/Director Sherek 2 & 3 and Sausage Party) Andy Reaser (Grey's Anatomy), Steve Dildarian (Life and Times of Tim) and a host of others.

Over the years I have also represented Seth Rogen, Jay Roach and worked with all the major studios and networks.
I've seen and heard it all. I bring passion to the table but do it with regards to material and help you navigate the choppy politics of getting your script exposed and read by the entertainment business at large. Think of my services as a "manager for hire on a project by project basis."

People consult me for specific information about the industry (seek advice/guidance) or utilize my services from script/development consulting to how to get your material ready for distribution (or perhaps you have a choice of representatives and producers already reading your material and need advice of whom to trust or how to maximize the opportunity -- that's where I come in).

If I read a script of yours and find it market ready, I can offer an opportunity to set it up or lead you to representation. I work with literary managers and agents at CAA, WME, UTA, ICM, and various smaller agencies.

As someone who has worked with artists for more than two decades, I understand the individual needs of a writer/director and I am sensitive to the fact that everyone has their own process. I understand what it takes to create and tell stories.
More than anything, I know how hard it is to break down the doors that many don't have the key to access. Though I am actively developing multiple feature film and television projects as a producer, my main goal is to help people become better artists and more educated about the business.

I am also fluent in four languages. "

Mentoring Program

Grateful for my 25 year career (Oscars, Cannes, Sundance, Emmys), but my another passion? Mentoring. From guiding my Mentees to not only get work, but get on high profile, well paid productions and work consistently, to having a balance with their careers, well being and personal lives. Mentoring is customized to each Mentee to achieve their goals and fulfill their needs. And it starts with listening. I am extremely proud of my mentees, and receive great satisfaction watching them thrive. I’m also a Certified Success Coach, and incorporate mindset mentoring to break through limiting beliefs and blocks, to empower my Mentees and make them unstoppable and resilient to the sometimes harsh climate of the film industry. Hi, My name is Peter and I am a cinephile. It is not something I plan to fully recover from. In all seriousness, I absolutely love everything FILM and have since the ripe age of 6. I grew up in the forest, and I lived in a log cabin. That's all true, but the cabin was a beautifully crafted three story custom masterpiece, set against a rugged mountain backdrop, in Montana. You could say I was in heaven. Growing up in Montana, I fell in love with the outdoors; which I am still in love with to this day. Nature and the outdoors is my main escape, second to watching a movie. Nature brings me back into balance, and living a well balanced life will always be at the forefront of my mission. Fast forward ... I grew up, went to film school, got married and currently live in Tucson, AZ with my wife Kara and our two dogs Sadie and Re*****on. My wife and I love the sunshine, 356 days of sun here in AZ. As much as I love the film biz, Los Angeles was never seen as a realistic option for myself. I just couldn't imagine living a balanced life there. Maybe I would have or could have, but that's besides the point. I find new opportunities wherever I go and can always travel for work. Let's talk about work shall we!?. I've been in the trenches working as a Cinematographer and Videographer for nearly 20 years. I'm still in love with the craft, as there are no two projects alike. I embrace all of the challenges that come with the responsibility of a DP/Cinematographer, and I absolutely love the collaborative process. Creating movie magic that is uniquely yours, in collaboration with other amazing craftsmen and women, is the ultimate experience. Being a part of such an undertaking has many rewards, but I really cherish the relationships and learning experiences that result from such complex and engaging work. Cinematography, as a personal expression, is an intoxicating experience. From the moment I am hired to the last day of principle photography, being behind the camera is a privilege and something I preserve as a collaborator and storyteller. I am very easy to work with and do well in all situations. I say that with confidence mainly because I have worked with so many personality types, environments and projects. You have to maintain a certain energy throughout the production, and as a DP you have people looking up to you for leadership. Most of the time it doesn't feel like work to me! I would love to share more with you all, but that's all I have time for now. I hope to see you on set some day! Regards,Peter -- Peter Fuhrman, Cinematographer/DP 971.275.6264 www.peterfuhrman.com
Hello everyone, I am one of the new added members to this awesome group! Thank you for welcoming me 😊. I am a nurse, mother, dancer, and aspiring actress sharing the same passion for film and acting as everyone in this group. Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself😊.
Hey gang, I just cut a trailer for my directorial debut. Operation: Clean Slate. It is a a quirky teenage heist film about four really different teens that team up, break into city hall to wipe their parking tickets clean if hopes to save their summers. Have a watch. Love to get your feed back. Thank you.
I just stopped by to say that I’m starting to shoot my documentary today. Funding is not solidly in place yet but why wait? Anyway, I just wanted to say it out loud in the hopes that saying it makes it real. Man, this is a rollercoaster! As you all know.
Hi group! Do people here have insights on movie trailer costs, or alternatives to trailers in the Tucson, AZ area? A union-house theatre is looking for outdoor venues, but it's looking like they would have to provide dressing rooms to talent, so the thought is trailers or RVs it something, but I'm not even sure where those resources exist in Tucson. Any thoughts or recommendations are much appreciated!
Be Educated and Proactive when going back to set. Get your certificate here ...
We’re all important part of the process!
I will be glad to assist others with a true desire to work in acting...I'm new here and not looking for money...IMDb.com mike shiflett I .... wishing you every good dream...
