You do not have to struggle with PPD alone or in silence. PPD is a treatable psychological disorder and does not make you a bad parent.
As @snickerb31 states- Make sure to find healthy coping skills during this time or offer healthy coping skills to a loved one instead of passing judgment!

The Blooming Phoenix

I’m Nicole and I am excited to launch this event in the South Los Angeles area. I’ve experienced postpartum depression and at one point, it became severe. I didn’t know or care to find what resources were available to me; I suffered in silence for a long time. I didn’t feel like I had a safe space and I was always stressing to be strong for the baby. I know how lonely it feels and how difficult it can be to navigate through postpartum depression, especially when the topic isn’t heavily discussed. To help change the narrative, I’ve partnered with The Jenesse Center to present, The Blooming Phoenix, a free maternal mental health awareness brunch on Saturday, June 1, 2019 from 9:30am-1pm at the Crenshaw Yoga and Dance studio in Los Angeles. The event is inclusive of brunch, a health and wellness fair, panel discussion, art and entertainment... and it’s free! The event serves as an educational seminar brunch focusing on topics related to mental health during pregnancy and postpartum, focusing on maternal mental health within the African American community and to give women a safe space to obtain resources, heal and grow.
