We Scottish Americans love our tartan, and wearing tartan is an excellent way to embrace our Scottish heritage. Unfortunately, we are often less inclined to learn and embrace the somewhat confusing history of the Scottish tartan.

To the Games, I'm heartbroken that they didn't happen this year, but understand the reason why... here's to 2020, may they rest in peace. Here's to 2021, we will make them the best Games yet! Love to all, slàinte!
I am assuming the half marathon is cancelled as well?
A very tasty scotch in a beautiful glencairn glass. We may have cancelled the games, but the love and pride for the games continue! Here's to health in 2020, and the best SMSF&G ever in 2021! Slàinte, a charaid!
I wanted to say thank you to Tim Richards for his support of our business, Kommando Kilts he purchased this face mask from us in the Buchanan tartan. We hope that everyone is staying safe. You can check out all of our tartan offerings at www.kommandokilts.com.
Dear friends, as we enter into the second month of this Pandemic, the the future basically on hold, our festival season looks pretty bleak. The last four weeks worth of events have cancelled and all upcoming events til mid June are either rescheduling, if possible, or cancelling as well. As a vendor, we at The Welsh Cookie Co are feeling the pinch, but we are not alone. The musicians, dancers, athletes, clans and even the festivals themselves are suffering through all of this. There have been some virtual, online festivals started, but they can't compare to the real thing. The same with streaming concerts. They can't replace real personal contact. I feel that Jeannette and I have true relationships with so many of our customers, friendships built over the last 20 years travelling to festivals across the country and we would hate to lose those if the events have trouble bouncing back. Please consider donating your time or energy or what you would have spent in entry to help keep our collective culture alive into the future. I know many vendors, like myself, have offered discounts for online orders and are hoping to serve our loyal fans in any way we can. Until we can w meet again, stay safe and be well. Cheers, Michael and Jeannette
Lets all post pictures of ourselves #SocialDistancing for #NationalTartanDay2020 on 6 April.
Got a refund on my Patron donation today. Thanks for the prompt attention. We'll get 'em next year!
Had several inquiries about tornado damage in East TN and would it affect the Smoky Mountain Scottish Festival. My response has been, "No" as the damage occurred in Middle TN. Any corrections that need to be made?
Delicious scotch in a beautiful glencairn glass. Here's to the SMSG&F!
The Maryville College is the Perfect setting for the Smoky Mountain Festival. The campus is nestled with the beautiful scenic mountains as the surrounding landscape reminds you of being in Scotland.
Great way to finish a Saturday... a pour of scotch in my SMSF&G glencairn glass.
My wife and I had a great time yet again this year, however I would like to suggest that a larger covered area be provided for diners. The drinkers get a (huge) tent. So many just used the space to just rest.
