Try our Ballroom & Latin group dance class where you'll learn smooth social dancing, exciting Latin moves and fun swing or shag dancing with all the great turns! Known for its comfortable atmosphere with a European touch, A&E Ballroom is committed to providing exceptional dance instruction. It is our continued goal to build a dance community that reflects the diversity of our students and to redefine the meaning of social dancing. Our instructors are qualified to teach American and International style of dancing. Most of all, you will find A & E lessons fun and exciting. Our weekly and monthly events feature great dancing and the best music in town.

We’re finally open for small group classes and private lessons! Please see the group schedule below.
To keep everybody safe, masks are REQUIRED. Please wash and sanitize your hands before and after each lesson. We will be taking your temperature, and we will disinfect the ballroom after each lesson.
Group classes start Monday, Sept. 14. The number of attendees is limited due to COVID restrictions.
PARTNERS ARE NEEDED!
Each male dancer can have 2 female dancers. There will be no partner changes except between your 2 partners.

Bolero Workshop July 21, 2018
Our Bolero workshop on Saturday was a great success. Dancers learned and/or polished several nice moves to take to the ballroom floor. Thank you, everyone, for working so hard – you looked really great!

Quickstep workshop
We really had an excellent workshop yesterday on Quickstep. Thank you to everyone who attended either the beginner or both beginner and intermediate sessions. We were happy with your progress and hope to see your moves on the floor soon - maybe at today's European Tea Dance? (4 p.m. at Levine Center.) We will have another Quickstep workshop in the coming months, building on yesterday's patterns.

A lot of our dancers may have been out shopping or partying yesterday, but those who attended enjoyed a lesson on open style waltz followed by 90 minutes of fun in open dance. And amazingly, our male/female ratio had everyone on the dance floor almost the entire time.

All fourteen videos of A&E Ballroom's "Portraits of Spring" showcase have now been posted, so let's take a moment to thank our friend and lady of many talents, Nancy Stephen! There is not a doubt in my mind that Nancy spent an hour or so on each to get them edited and uploaded to YouTube for all of us to enjoy...and we do! Thanks Nancy!!
Lest we forget, Nancy started with a portfolio of still photos before the videos were available. Then, throw in photos from a Tea Dance or two, the Carolina Ballroom monthly dance, and all of her other volunteer work, and you have to wonder how one person can get so much done. Amazing!
Not just A&E Ballroom—but the entire Charlotte dance community as well—is lucky to have Nancy Stephen for a friend!
And we love her for all she does for all of us!!
Gene and I had a wonderful time at the showcase today. We enjoyed the performances and also visiting with our dance friends!

Thank you to your dancers who served lunch in the sweltering heat at the Community Shelter yesterday!
A&E's dance practice Saturday afternoon in Levine's ballroom was outstanding.
Being able to practice with multiple leaders AND to have Brigitte and Sebastian there to help us get "unstuck" on our individual issues was very effective and rewarding.
For those who missed it, you missed a great dance experience. We've heard, though, that there will be more.
I hope so!
