To keep you informed, from 12:25-12:49 p.m., the Midlothian Police Department requested that Irvin Elementary School and The MILE be put into a precautionary lockout due to a situation in close proximity of the campuses. The safety of our students and staff is a top priority and we want to ensure we take all of the necessary precautions.
A lockout is where no one is allowed to enter or exit the building until the all-clear from the MPD has been given. However, students and staff may move throughout the building to attend class or other indoor campus activities.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact your childโs campus.

The MHS Pantherette Drill Team sponsored the Pink Out football game this year in October. The Pantherettes sold Pink Out Shirt all over the district and community. All proceeds went toward Tim Tebow's W15H Foundation, which blesses children all over who are battling cancer and other serious diseases. Midlothian's Chelsie Watts and Ethan Hallmark were blessed by this foundation and the Pantherettes wanted to give back to those who have blessed the ones we love. The Pantherettes raised $7,313.00 for the W15H Foundation and received this heartfelt thank you from Tim Tebow. Thank you Midlothian for your part in making this happen!
MHS Engineering Hovercrafts are supporting Panther Baseball by "throwing out the first pitch" in a unique way! Junior and senior students designed and built their own hovercrafts that successfully levitate (hover) above the earth's surface. Their crafts traveled 50-100 feet on level ground with only a single push!

During the 3rd six weeks, we spent a great deal of time working with many mathematical concepts of triangles. The Winter Wonderland Project had them take many elements such as, congruent triangles, angle bisectors, perpendicular bisectors, etc., and individually create Christmas decorations. As a group they took their decorations and worked as a class to decorate a designated hallway. This allowed them to work on teamwork, leadership, creativity, problem solving, and spatial awareness.
Keller Bermudez built robotic hands utilizing NASA design plans. He had to increase the length of the fingers to fit his costume character. Pretty neat stuff!
MHS student, Keller Bermudez built robotic hands utilizing NASA design plans. He had to increase the length of the fingers to fit his costume character. He consulted with engineering teacher, Sarah Hardin regularly to work out material and functionality challenges. Even our MHS trainers assisted by providing a self sticking wrap that added gripping traction to the inside surfaces of his fingers! The project utilized math, physics, and artistic skills, but paid off beautifully!
Students in Mrs. Hamilton's physics class were attempting to calculate the rate an object falls to earth...objects fall at 9.8 mps squared...meaning an object falls 9.8 meters in one second, 19.6 meters in two seconds...and so on...cool stuff!
Physics teacher Ronnie Gail Hamilton demonstrates that gravity has the same effect on all objects...see the video
