Midlothian ISD Announces New Staff Hires

Midlothian ISD believes in serving all students, parents and staff each day and to foster an environment where each person can reach their unlimited potential. The district is excited to welcome the following four people to their new positions with MISD and help fulfill its mission to inspire excellence today to change the world tomorrow.

Dr. Aaron Williams joins the district as the coordinator of fine arts, math, advanced academics and accountability. He earned his Bachelor of Music Education from Northwestern State University, his Master of Education from Stephen F. Austin State University, and his Doctor of Education from Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Williams joins MISD from Mabank ISD, where he previously served as an assistant director of bands, fine arts coordinator, advanced academic coordinator and associate principal. He most recently served as director of advanced academics for Mabank ISD.

Brandi Just joins MISD as the new counselor at Heritage High School. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Science from Mid-America Christian University, a Master of Science in Family and Child Studies from University of Central Oklahoma, and a Master of Education in School Counseling from Southwestern Assemblies of God University. Ms. Just previously served as an academic dean for Trinity Christian School, and she most recently served as a school counselor at Life School of Dallas at Waxahachie.

Andrea Gonzalez is transitioning to the role of assistant principal at Midlothian High School. She received her bachelor of arts degree from Southwestern Assemblies of God University and her Masters in Educational Administration from Lamar University. She has worked in Midlothian since 2001 as a content mastery teacher, special education lead teacher, and most recently as the administrative intern for Midlothian High School.

Stephanie Martinez joins MISD as the new associate principal for Midlothian High School. She received her Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Applied Technology and Performance Improvement from the University of North Texas and a Master of Education from the University of Texas at Arlington. Ms. Martinez previously served as a career and technical education teacher for Fort Worth ISD and Mansfield ISD. She most recently served as an assistant principal for Mansfield High School.

“We are excited to have these talented individuals join us in their new positions in MISD,” Dr. Lane Ledbetter, Superintendent of Schools, said. “We look forward to seeing the great work they will do for our students, teachers and staff members, and together we will achieve excellence in all that we do.”

Midlothian ISD to hold Modified In-person Graduation Ceremonies

Based upon feedback from the senior Class of 2020, Midlothian ISD’s high schools will hold modified, condensed graduation ceremonies at the MISD Multi-Purpose Stadium on May 29 and 30. The district is working closely with our local and state health officials to create safety protocols for these events.

“We understand graduation is a momentous occasion in every student’s life, and we are grateful for the chance to honor our seniors,” Lane Ledbetter, Superintendent of Schools, said. “The safety and security of our students, staff and community members are our top priority, and we would like to thank everyone for their patience, understanding and partnership to make this a safe and memorable event.”

Midlothian High School’s graduation will be held Friday, May 29, and Heritage High School’s graduation will be held Saturday, May 30. Both ceremonies will be held in the evening and the times are to be determined. Due to social distancing and health and safety guidelines, each senior will receive four tickets for immediate family members within their household.

More details about the logistics and procedures for the Class of 2020 graduation ceremony will be released soon. As issues surrounding COVID-19 remain fluid, the district will continue to monitor the situation and follow all state and county guidelines for any possible changes to the graduation ceremonies.
