Adams County Guide 2020
Shermalot skis at the Lake Arrowhead Dam every Saturday at 6:30 pm Memorial Day through Labor Day. Throughout July we add Wednesday evening shows as well.
The Shermalot Water Ski Show Team story began in the summer of 1975 when a group of die-hard water skiers banded together to share their love of the sport. The Shermalot Show Team recently completed its 27th year of providing exciting entertainment to hundreds of thousands of citizens throughout northern Adams County and the State. The Shermalot Show Team is the third longest continuous running water ski show in the State of Wisconsin and a major tourism attraction to the Adams County Town of Rome, performing shows twice weekly on Lake Arrowhead since 1982. The Shermalot Show Team has a deep heritage of competitive show skiing and are five time Wisconsin State Division II Champions. The team has been ranked in the top ten ski shows in the country and won the sportsmanship award at the 2002 Wisconsin State Show Tournament. A passion for excellence and innovation has led Shermalot to perform many first time acts including the first Doubles/Swivel hot pick-up, the shoe ski gainer, a swivel line hookup, as well as our signature barefoot pyramids. Through this pursuit of excellence, many members have been rewarded in the form of State, National, and World Championships. Including Jennifer Calleri-Schwenk who is an eight time National, and four time world champion in Womens barefooting and a member of the Water Ski Hall of Fame. Through their passion for the sport, many members of our team have been recruited by professional ski shows in Europe, Australia, Asia, and the United States. Throughout the years, the Shermalot family has grown. Our focus on healthy, family-oriented activities has built many lifelong friendships, marriages, and entire families that share a bond beyond the sandy beaches and sunshine of the Town of Rome. Some of the founding members of the team are still active and we have several second and even third generation family members participating in our shows. We are also very proud that by advocating leadership to youth, many of our members have gone on to enjoy professional careers and become leaders in their communities. The team performs many community service projects throughout the town including assisting with the construction of Rome Lions Park (Arrowhead Park), improvements and maintenance of the Lake Arrowhead Dam show site, road cleanup, dock and boat lift removal, and ski clinics for kids. Many of our members also volunteered during the recent high water problems in the Town of Rome. The Shermalot Water Ski Show Team also revived the Camelot Frolic celebration for property owners on Lake Camelot and provided entertainment for the Adams County Harbor Fest several years ago. The Shermalot Water Ski Show Team is committed to making our community a better place through healthy, family-focused entertainment, community service, and leadership advocacy in youth. We greatly appreciate the support that we have received from the citizens, businesses, and governing bodies in our area. Franklin Roosevelt once said “we must fill our children’s time with activities that are exciting, interesting, and good for them or they will fill it with those that are exciting, interesting, and not good for them.” With continued support, we can offer fun, healthy, safe activities for the youth of our area.

Shermalot's Got Talent was the theme for this year that was clearly identified in the pyramids featured and doubles. In addition, we had a really, really big pull for our younger skiers. A quad helicopter that has not been shown by Shermalot in a long time. Please tag your friends and share what year this was from.......

Shermalot has a limited amount of “Jump Back Jack John” t-shirts, tank tops, and bracelets left from our fund raiser for our team member, John Arendt, who suffered a traumatic brain injury during the offseason. T-shirts and tanks are $20 and bracelets are $5. Sizes are as follows S, M, L and just one XL left in T shirts. There are 4 M and 1 L tank tops left (they are a female cut).
This narrative tells about our push for this season: Jack. John. Jack John. JJ. The man has many names and a spirit and personality to match each one. He’s part of our ski family. We’re tight. We’re the best of friends. On November 8, 2017 Jack John was the victim of a head on car crash. He suffered many fractured and broken bones as well as traumatic brain injury. He has spent months rehabilitating and his ultimate goal is to get back on skis again. We’ve rallied around JJ with our cards, photos, thoughts, prayers, visits, facetime calls, Snapchats and Facebook posts and are pushing him toward that goal. Jack John has a long road ahead of him and a support system that is superb. We have no doubt Jack John will again snow and water ski. Shermalot dedicates the 2018 water ski season to Jack John’s recovery and look forward to the day we’re back out on the water together again as one giant ski family. We’re holding your spot on our jump team, Jack John. We’ve got your back. Stay strong and keep fighting!
Sizes are limited to what we still have left which are good for smalls and mediums and limited for L and XL.
ALL proceeds go to John Arendt. Message me to order. We will add $5 for shipping and can take credit card for payment.
Thanks for your support! — with John Arendt.

It's June 16 and it's going to be a HOT day in Rome! Looking for something to do? Head down to Arrowhead Beach at 278 15th Ave, Lake Arrowhead! Swim for a while and then stay to watch our spectacular free water ski show at 6:30! (Donations are always appreciated)
Shermalot sends its deepest condolences to the Min-Aqua Bats ski family.
It is with a heavy heart today that we let our fans and supporters know of a loss that we have suffered.
Yesterday, Aaron Coleman, one of our team members, passed away.
Aaron joined the team in 1998, and has contributed to the show up until the present. He was a fantastic slalom skier, and later became one of our most relied upon boat drivers. Our fans will have seen him “walking the dog”, pulling perfect hopdocks, and navigating all of our Big Acts in our twin rig throughout the last five summers.
Aaron was President of the Min-Aqua Bats in 2015. Affectionally known to the team as “Babe”, he led the team and defined what it meant to be a Bat president.
Aaron was a steady driver, always giving the skiers he pulled confidence. A head nod, rev of the engine, and you were off!
Aaron was a man who would help anyone out if he or she asked. He always found the time and a way to be a part of the solution.
He was an avid fisherman, and would often be seen driving and maintaining his classic Nautique. He loved camping, hiking, skiing, and anything involved with nature and being outside. As a Minocqua resident on the chain, he was generous with his boats and his home, always offering a pull, a ride home, or a place to crash.
Aaron was an integral part of our Min-Aqua Bat family. A driver who never failed, an honest and fierce friend, and a Bat for life. We will never forget you and the impact you had on our lives.
Fly high Aaron. We wish you calm waters and colorful sunrises. Grip it and Rip it.
