SADLY, THIS WILL BE OUR FINAL WEEKEND OF THE 2020 SUMMER OF SUNFLOWERS.

We will be day-to-day into next week and our season will come to an early end probably around mid-week next week if not sooner.

We've been closed for an exhausting 10 important days of our summer season due to a total of 12 inches of flooding rains.

We planned and planted enough sunflower crops to get us to Labor day but the later crops didn't pull through the flooding, bringing us to an early end to our season.

It's a humbling reminder that "a farmer's field is never promised".

Keep an eye on the ticket page for Saturday and Sunday tickets.

Thank you for your support this summer and thank you for being a friend of the farm!

Please stay well!

Tuesday, August 18th. The sun IS shining but there's still A LOT of water in key parts of the flower fields.

We will remain CLOSED until further notice.

We've had substantial rain every day since the bad storms last week. Yesterday afternoon we added another 3 inches of rain with a very slow moving storm 🌦.

We plan on reopening once the fields have had sufficient time to dry out and that timeline is based entirely on how much sunshine we get over the next few days.

It is our HOPE to reopen by this weekend but we won't know until later this week if we can make that happen.

We'll publish another post later in the week with how things are looking.

The pics in this post were taken this morning. Not pictured, is our feet in several inches of water 😬. With sunshine, and no more rain, the fields WILL dry!

We hope to see you in the sunflowers again soon!

Thank you for being a friend of the farm! @ Burnside Farms

Friday, August 14th.

While we've been busy assessing damage from the storms, the bees have been busy too, and we're happy to see that!

We're extremely grateful for all of your love and support after a pretty remarkable rain event the other night!

We will be CLOSED this weekend but we THINK we MIGHT be able to reopen the season early next week (for another week or so).

We have to get some heavy equipment out onto the fields to repair some deer fencing (deer LOVE sunflowers) and do some other cleanup before we can reopen.

The ground is too soft from the rain to get that equipment out in the field right now, but with a little sunshine, we hope to get that work done over the weekend.

If we get more rain, that will likely set us back.

We'll keep you posted here.

Thank you for letting us be a special part of your summer! You really mean the world to us!

SPECIAL NOTE: We've had a tremendous amount of trespassers the past few days and it's not only disheartening, it's against the law to trespass on private property. We kindly ask that you please respect our family farm.

We hope to see you in the sunflowers again soon!🌻🌻

Our sunflower maze is open when we are open and blooming for only about 9 more days.

Our operating schedule is day-to-day right now due to all the recent rain. It looks like we'll be closed again tomorrow for more rain 🌧.

We hope to be able to release tickets for this weekend sometime after noon tomorrow (Friday) but that will depend on how much rain we get this afternoon and tomorrow.

FIELDS ARE WET TODAY. PLEASE WEAR BOOTS IF YOU'RE PLANNING A VISIT SOON.

We have a few more weeks of blooming sunflowers. We hope to πŸ‘€ you in the sunflowers soon!

Wednesday, August 5th. Our sunflowers are still bright and beautiful after a tremendous amount of rain!

We will have a day-to-day operating schedule for the next few days due to the uncertain short term weather forecast. Please bear with us, as field conditions change depending on how much rain we get.

Please keep in mind that just because it's a sunny day, doesn't mean our fields are dry and we are open.

We open the fields when we feel they are "dry enough" but they may still be wet in spots and have potential to get muddy in spots.

Tickets are now available from 3-8pm this evening - Burnsidefarms.mazeplay.com

PLEASE WEAR BOOTS OR FARM WORTHY FOOTWEAR FOR A VISIT TODAY.

Our SUNFLOWER MAZE is NOW OPEN when the farm is open and it should bloom for only about 10 days.

The sunflower maze is included in admission but we caution ⚠️ that the maze will probably get muddy in spots this afternoon/evening. The maze is almost 2 miles of paths, so keep that in mind if you want to try it out.

It looks like we'll have a few days of solid rain starting tomorrow, so we'll be closed for rain after today.

We will re-open the season later in the week when the fields have had sufficient time to dry out.

Our sunflower maze will be ready to open when we re-open. We'll have more details and pictures of the maze in our next post. The maze will bloom for only about 10 days.

Saturday, August 1st. VERY last minute ticket release for Sunflower Sunsets THIS EVENING from 6-8 pm!

Burnsidefarms.mazeplay.com

The fields have mostly dried up for this evening and tonight's rain looks to be holding off until around 9pm.

TOMORROW: We HOPE we can open for the afternoon hours and Sunflower Sunsets but that's entirely dependent on how much rain we get tonight. Check back on the ticket page for ticket availability after noon tomorrow.

It looks like we'll be CLOSED for the early part of this week as the hurricane brings us all rain. We'll re-open ticket sales later in the week.

Our one-of-a-kind SUNFLOWER MAZE will open for about two weeks when we re-open later in the week!

Sorry for the last minute announcement! We had to be sure the fields were dry enough and that the rain would hold off until later.

We hope to see you in the sunflowers soon! @ Burnside Farms

Beautiful visit yesterday, can't wait until next summer!
How are the sunflowers to date? Since there has been so much rain, I didn't know if they still looked like the picture above. Also, is the area stroller friendly? Is there an FAQs section for any other questions? TIA!
